"The hiring process on all levels has become more intense. They are looking for well qualified people and its starts with the interviews and the training."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"Depending on the manager, promotions can be favored and therefore harder for some."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The company is in the process of restructuring their entire image to the consumer, so the new employees go through a rigorous training course and learn the new structure and core values etc. Management needs to share that information with the existing employees because it doesn't seem that there is a focus towards those that have been there."

"What you come in as (pay wise) is pretty much what it will be for the long run. Corporate philosophy seems to be 'you are what you are'. Unpaid training makes it a personal chore to advance in the company."

What don't you like about working at CVS?

"CVS Caremark doesn't pay well. They treat workers like slaves with the mindset of plantation owners."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management should work on making sales and profit bonuses available to everyone in the organization. Turning key areas of the front store operations from a supermarket oriented operation into a sales operation would benefit the company. They should also redo the stock receiving operation to smooth out inventory."

"If you're going into retail pharmacy for the first time, do not start around January when insurance problems are at their worst."

"Patients have a tendency to fall through the cracks due to how busy we are. The production line way of working with prescriptions keeps workers sort of uninformed, so when problems arise, they are difficult to handle."

"Management should not make promises for expediency and they be more truthful about the capacities of our work ability."

"There are long hours for your low salary and I had to work every single holiday, Its very hard to get time off and work/ life balance is somewhat hard to manage."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Would make sure the every employee felt valued and made sure that promises that were made were kept. Furthermore, time off would be given and be given fairly for family life would not be ruined! Note to CVS, no one shops CVS on Thanksgiving or Christmas, no reason why upper management have it off and make store staff work terrible hours!"

"Be positive about yourself. Have a reasonable but firm starting salary in mind. They will pay you as little as possible. Annual raises are in the 10 cent/hour range."

"I don't enjoy the low pay and irregular hours. Good employee programs but very bad at giving employees time and info needed to use them."

"Scary to think how much money this company could make if they would implement LEAN, cut waste, and upgrade IT."
