What do you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"I enjoyed working for the company, but my personal manager was too busy playing golf and running to the lake to do his own job and expected everyone else to do his job for him. He was overpaid for what he did do. He is definitely not an asset to the company. He spent more time sabotaging his own team, instead of working with them. The company itself is excellent in what they do, and I hope that when they get all Scientific Atlanta and Cisco companies combined they are going to be the best out there. I believe in their product, and I believe in their way of thinking. So, new age. I wish the company all the best."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire a manager who knows the job and can do it."

"I did like the work, but over the last few years the company has been changing, and now it's just another big company to collect a check from."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't view Cisco as a career choice, as they do not want people to stay there forever anymore. When I first started, they always said that they wanted people to retire from Cisco, but now they are removing those longtime workers and replacing them with younger ones. The culture has changed a lot in the time I have been there. It's too bad, as it used to be a great place to work."

What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"As stated above, it has become just another big company."
