"They are one of the best companies to work for because of the excellent work culture, good growth, and opportunities. They are pleasant and decent people. It's a golden opportunity for me to work with Cisco."

What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"Even if the candidate/consultant is good, there is no retention policy for him/her."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"All managers, business users, and Cisco employees are very professional, and it's my pleasure to work with them. Try to retain good candidates/consultants and if his/her assignment gets over and there is no opportunity within the same IDU, then managers can try for the next assignment in any IDUs within the Cisco system, instead of releasing good consultants/resources."

"It was a fun and exciting time at Cisco. We were still small and every idea was treated as important to management. I loved it."

"I know I wouldn't want to work for Cisco again just because it is too big."

What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"After 2000, the place got too big. Management was from big companies such as DEC, Sun, Apple, and Palm. It changed the Cisco culture and became a big corporate. Top executives have long been removed from their own people. Most of the people are there because of security more then fun."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep in touch with your people. Value their ideas and empower them on day-to-day decisions. Make them feel they are ones who can help build the company."

"Well, Cisco Systems is a very good company overall, but I personally feel it depends which business unit you are in. Some business units are not up to the mark. I was a contractor, not a full-time worker."

"Well, please ask repeated questions with the interviewer as if you are a good communicator. They will hire you at the same time. There are people who enjoy to screw the candidate!!!"

"Well, I did not like groupism at Cisco."

"Well, management is blind. They just listen to others' words, not investigating properly, especially the NCBU unit."
