"I have worked with Cisco since 2009."
"A good place to work, if you don't mind annual layoffs (they call them LRs - Labor Reductions) They work can be extremely interesting, but they are having a tough time learning how to become a best in class enterprise software supplier. They will make it, but enterprise software is very different than embedded software."
"I've worked at Cisco Systems since August 2007. I have also moved within the company from one location to another and find that most of the people who advance are near their managers. If you are remote, it's harder for you to show your improvement or accomplishments. I do feel most of the great positions and advancements happen in new offices or in San Jose, CA the HQ. Sometimes attaining training is hard to accomplish and acquiring a CCIE within Cisco is basically null and voided at Cisco."
"Worked for Cisco (TAC) for about 9 years. I love troubleshooting but it has become very political and cut-throat. The older, wise guys have been replaced by arrogant fresh-out-of-college kids, that have no clue, and it has become a challenge to get cases solved. I met guys that would re-arrange their lives for Cisco, and those are the ones that are now looking for a way out before another "limited restructuring" phase rolls along. Sad. I can only hope Cisco will reconsider and accept that cheap doesn't mean better."
"Cisco is a good company with lots of very talented people. Unfortunately the culture they are creating is not one that I believe is in the best interest of either the customer or its employees."
