What don't you like about working at Canon?

"I was pulled away from my territory regularly for sales meetings that were an ineffective use of my time. Management was inept at enabling reps to succeed and really lacked in their ability to properly educate and support reps. I was forced to spend a considerable amount of time doing administrative tasks like paperwork processing and customer problem solving. Compensation was based on profit margin maintained in transactions and that profit margin was exccedingly difficult to maintain considering that in the majority of the deals I was competing against other Canon dealers in the area selling the exact same solutions. Thus I was unable to adequately differentiate the comany from the competition because there really was no differentiation. It all came down to price and thus my commissions were meager for the revenue I was posting as one of the top sales reps in the company. Also I was not given access to large accounts because these were assigned to tenured reps with no clear guidelines as to what was an account I should pursue."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management should check in on reps with positive feedback rather than just asking What's you sell Reps should not be brought out of the feild for so many frivolous meetings. Management should take a more hands on approach to ensuring the success of it's sales people."
