"Kiss ass. Regardless of how hard you work, your ability to kiss ass is what counts. In many cases, you don't need the stated education level for a job, but if you suck up enough, the job is yours."

"I dislike the general level of politics, as well as the demented minds of the supervisors who get pleasure in seeing others get screwed over."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Nothing, since the problems lie in the personality of people. You can't change the politics and/or the yes-man attitudes, cliques, etc. Sometimes, work is worse than high school."

"Ask questions about the job the managers really look for interest in the job from the applicant"

"Not much of an opportunity for growth. A significant number of jobs are now offshore and unavaialble in Boston"

"Being and engineering company people that are not engineers were viewed as less qualified"

"Out side of the leadership development programs there is not many opportunities for early careers"

"Be prepared for a fast-paced environment. The dress code is very casual & great people."

"Training has been slow-going and not much direction from manager. Communication is lacking."

"Create formal training sessions for newcomers. It is difficult to learn about all the different carriers Asurion supports without formal training sessions."

"Being a contractor has its ups and downs. The flexibility is good. The insecurity is not."

"After 30 years in business, I notice a trend of political pigeonholing. Workers are rewarded for fitting molds and applying the right buzzwords. As a result, the best work is not getting done."

"Prior to downsizing creativity was valued. Direct customer/empoyee support was valued."

"Thru downsizing the company treated the HEAT system as another standard app. Loss of flexibility in hours."

"When you treat employees like children, you get problems. Treat employees with respect, they go the extra mile."

"Be prepared technically - this is a top-notch company to work for. Having said that, be personable as the company looks for productive team players."

"Although we were known as problem-solvers, management saw IT as a unit that did not produce revenue, so there was constant stress to prove our importance to corporate management."

"you will like your co-workers but be prepared for the long hours and micromanagement"

"senior management is terrible, micromanagers, too many meetings and unnecessary rules, like you have to get five people to sign off on your vacation request, understaffed so ridiculous long hours are the norm, no useful training, get yelled at by senior management on a regular basis, their answer to everything is that it's your fault for not managing your time better even if it would be impossible to do what you have to do in the time you have, clients are always unhappy"

"stop with the constant meetings! make the training better and actually pertain to what we do, improve the helpdesk situation, HIRE MORE PEOPLE WE ARE DYING HERE"

"Benefits, office, perks, location, difficult to think of something good."

"Don't bother, you would be unhappy... they will try to sell you an oasis if you live on the dessert but you better look somewhere else where they truly know your worth. All the leadership board has left."

"Business inconsistency and lack of direction, tons of people just losing their time."

"Terrible business, close minded focusing in the 'American' market in an international environment."
