"I enjoyed the team environment BBB engendered. I enjoyed having the autonomy to merchandise products the way I wanted to and the ability to do the ordering of merchandises."

"Expect to work lots of hours with little reward."

"I did not like the fact that we don't have any accountability on managers and employees' performances."

"Don't work for Him."
What don't you like about working at Ohio Thrift?
"They demeanor you and embarrass you in front of other employees. It's only what the company wants, if you have a suggestion on how to improve something it is thrown out the window. It only what Mr. SheonI wants, Mr. SheonI this and Mr. SheonI that. No fresh ideas only old standards. Management has to pick up pay roll on the other side of Columbus you are on company time but no compensation on wear and tear on you car or mileage, when gas was 4 dollars a gallon I would go 52 miles every week since I did all paper work and not get a thing for it. He doesn't account the right numbers from the donations for the Kidney foundation He makes millions on a so called charitable foundation. It sad I will never donate be cause he pockets most of it. And all the illegals that work for him I have seen a lot of fake SS cards that should be checked out. I can go in for a long time this is just some of the problems........................."

What do you like about working at Ohio Thrift?
"Nothing. You always felt like someone was watching you. Not a team environment everyone was out to protect themselves."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't do it. It was the most unhappy job of my life. My skin was crawling to leave. I am only one of many that have left that will never look back. The comments are true I am not just a disgruntled employee I was not fired I quit to take a job with another company."
What don't you like about working at Ohio Thrift?
"No benefits really. Most is out of your pocket. you could find better on your own. Makes associates and management pay back any money from unbalanced registers or safe. Had made 2 ASM's pay back money that another ASM stole! The owner runs it almost like a dictator. Is not open to new ideas or suggestions. Can be very demeaning. Will demote ASM's, DM's,SM's and keep them all working with the same store or transfer them all to one. Very unhealthy environment.Not to mention all the illegal staff he has hired for the backroom work. Many aspects of this company run borderline illegal. His security staff has even tailed an ASM from one store to another picking up supplies for the company. Many articles have been written up about his donations to the Kidney foundation. The store I worked at was a 2M store and he owns 9. Kidney foundation sees very little of this. He is a for profit owner. Nothing wrong with that, just be honest about how much you actually share with the foundation. His company pays the foundation based on how many skids are processed. I know for a fact that stores were lying about how many they actually processed in a day."

"Tried that, got major repercusions. He doesn't want to hear it."

"I would not recommend Sears to anyone who has even a hope at a job elsewhere!"
What do you like about working at Sears?
"I liked the other employees."
What don't you like about working at Sears?
"The store manager was a dysfunctional idiot! He had a tendency to blame all of his own shortcomings on those around him, mainly the ASMs."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Keep a better eye on the ASMs who can most likely do a better job than the SM. In my case the district manager was the previous store manager, and while she was nice and very competent, she only conversed with the SM and backed all of his decisions, which was a horrible mistake and led to horrendous store morale!"

"Restructuring of company and how they laid off management team during change."

"Company needs to work on offering more incentives for employees."

"The district manager, he is two faced and he shows his favorites workload is too much for hourly employees."

"Work as a team and have trust in your store managers."
