"Favoritism is a problem. Career growth too slow. pay sucked for the amount of work made to be done and money's earned."

"Learn to do your jobs to the correct way and take 100% responsibility for your store and your employees. Recognize the employees that actually get the job done instead of friends skating by and collecting checks"

"Dont work there unless you want to be paid peanuts for what you do, get treated disrespectfully, and have no work/life balance"

"Crappy pay and the expectation that you have no life outsideof Wal Mart"

"Will all the billions of dollras this company makes, you can afford to pay EVERYONE a better salary/ wage. Instead of big screen TVs in the depts for Infotainment pay your people better and offer better benefits."

What do you like about working at Home Depot?
"I like taking car of customers, and helping them solve daily repair problems."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The old Home Depot used to say treat the customers as if they were a neighbor or a family member, and make love to the customer. Be a part of success and be a team player. Always look forward. Your life with home depot is what you make of it."
What don't you like about working at Home Depot?
"I have to admit that there were cliques and favoritism in HD at all levels. One reason I had to leave was because of that. But at times I do miss working there, as not every one is a bad apple, but just a select few, and sometimes they hold your career in their hands."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Remember what made HD the best place to shop and work for. Go back to the beginnings, and history will repeat itself. Treat employees fairly and not through tyranny. Make it a great place to work again, not just a place to do your hours for a paycheck. Add more quality aprons on the floor."

"Tape record your interview - so you can address the b.s. later, ask how much hard labor you will really be doing - a lot more than hourly associates!"

"Micro management - poor communication company wide - they waste a lot of money."

"Rather than give more hours to those workers who have been there for longer periods of time, they hire new part time associates - I Think they should review what they are doing, especially since there were no raises given this year."

"Don't believe what the Executive Director tells you about the operations end of the company he has no clue. Best bet is to ask someone who works in operations."
What don't you like about working at Habitat for Humanity?
"The Executive Director is a very egotistical person who, if he doesn't agree with you makes your life tough. Furthermore he hires people without doing background checks. People who have little or no math skills to manage the re-store. People who have been let go from previous jobs because of their lack of math."

"Do background checks on employees, Don't just hire because you have known the person for a long time. finally, if you don't understand something, don't avoid it, ask for help in understanding it or attend a class or two."

"It provided me with employment that I did not have to travel with at the time. When that period was over and I wanted to get back in the CPG industry was when I left."
