"ensure new managers coming into pilot has the time to learn the field because Pilot has a lot of moving parts the processes are in place but time is needed to learn every process."

"I have a BA in business management. I wasted 2 years of my life as an ASM waiting for the company to get its act together and give me my own store as promised to me upon my hire. I finally quit that sinking ship and got a job that pays 3x as much. If you are looking for a career, look elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at Blockbuster?
"Everything. I was one of three managers in the store and the Lead Manager was someone with my same title who had been there slightly longer than me. She was horrible, had no people skills, took all the good days off, only worked day shifts, and sat in the back room watching movies on a portable dvd player instead of working. The second store I went to was only slightly better. The district manager changed 4 times in one year and no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't make any necessary changes in your store because the district manager had to approve everything and you never knew who that was. Sometimes, you'd get promises made by one district manager only to have them leave the next day and then you'd be screwed. This happened a lot with promises of additional employees, training, or promotions."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If you see someone not doing their job, don't pull the "it's not my job" routine and pick up the slack, actually fire a few people who need it, and get others in there who WANT to be there! You're losing all of your best employees because you don't give a damn!"
