"Be some what conservative, friendly, and a hertz cheerleader. They love MBA grads."
What don't you like about working at Hertz?
"Changes in direction or acquisition before an existing project or new brand is completed, huge loss of resources, time and money creates low morale,mixed signals in where the company is going. not family or commuter flexible, extreme weather conditions do not matter you will lose personal ttime or vacation days."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be open minded, more commuter friendly and better pay/benefits. Promote skilled workers and reduce favortism for veteran workers regardless of job knowledge. Question process that has been in effect for years and no longer serves a purpose. More team like building events."

"Job is not far from home close to highway and home"

"Don't work here you will be told you are doing one thing and then they will have you do other things without any recognition"

"Lots of micro managers and people who are treated differently because they kiss up to the big manager"

"I would let each deept run by itself and not be a micro manager I would hire more people who work and I would spend money on education"

What do you like about working at City of Long Beach?
"Long Beach provides significant responsibility to its management interns. Management interns work on a variety of projects that are high priority solutions for the City leadership."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be sure not to confuse Long Beach with the City of Los Angeles. Long Beach City government officials are very sensitive to the fact that Long Beach is the sixth largest city in California and they do not like to be in Los Angeles' shadow."

"There are limited opportunities for growth due to budget cuts and the tendency to promote staff based on tenure and not job performance."

"Consider adopting flexibility in the city's hiring processes. Often times Human Resources controls the process rather than the hiring department."

"Understand that it takes years to rise to a manager level, given the organization's tendency to reward employees based on time served rather than merit. However, it is a place where you get out of it what you put into it."

"Pace is slow and boring and I find that most of my time is wasted. It is also very introverted and isolated. I would enjoy more client interaction. Additionally, there are limited avenues for advancement and career development."

"I would make sure that employees' time is adequately filled, time frames are shortened, and work is significant."

"The lab I worked for is losing staff and is not able to hire any one as a replacement, and has not given raises for the past 3 years."

"Don't bother, this company is no longer hiring and they expect 12 hours of work done within 8 hours with no overtime."

"At the end, I was put into an entry level job. After about a month, I mwas laid off."

"They need to have enough business to give people raises or close the Tallahassee Lab."

"Taking too long to become a full-time employee can make you uninterested."

"Not sure what I'd do differently. Perhaps have more focus and less chaos but it's also the nature of the business."

"The overtime is a natural practice in most projects. We are responsible of tasks that aren't normal in our category (always you have more responsibilities than you must)"

"Beware; when cutbacks are on the horizon it is difficult to get work done because no one wants to make a mistake during a reduction in force."

"The politics with upper management was difficult to navigate and the company touted a certain culture but did not live by it themselves."

"Get to know your people working where the rubber meets the road and you will find out more of what is going on."

"CVS Caremark is large company with many jobs available to be moved around in. It also has good benefits."

"Look around at other companies before accepting a job at CVS."

"I dislike that there is no job security and it seems to be very disorganized. CVS Caremark has gone through three major reorganizations in three and a half years."

"Be more fair in treating your employees and try to reduce the amount of back stabbing."
