Marketing Assistant

"I worked for Leaderpromos for almost 3 years. I started as an entry level Assistant and was able to quickly move up and onto the Marketing team. If you work hard and apply yourself you can go far with this Company. They do not micro-manage you, and always make you feel you are an important part of the team. I had the opportunity to work with and to get to know the President/ CEO, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, they are truly a great group of people and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to work with them if I were to return to that area."

"The people you work with are the only tolerable part of employment with this company. Leadership is terrible from the highest level. The reason people are tight within the company is shared misery. The only way to make it through every week is to have friends who understand the crap you all deal with every day. The salary is a complete joke. Do not work for this company and expect to be there longer than a year. They fire people to make examples of them to the other employees."

"Horrifying."

What do you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"There is not a single positive word that you can say about this environment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not interview with this company under any circumstances. They will lie to you about the rate of pay, benefits and career progression. Next thing you know you'll be trapped in this dump! You're better off not going to the interview."

What don't you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"Low pay, poor training and direction. It seems the sole purpose of this place is to enrich the owner of the company. Most of management are pawns in that goal. Many of the more senior people are incredibly arrogant and pompous. The role models in this company are either unprofessional, lazy or ridiculous. The attrition rate is unbelievable because neither the staff nor managers know what they're doing. There are NO ETHICS in this company philosophy; and the pay structure is designed so that nobody can achieve a living wage. If people start making too much they change the pay structure."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Lead by example. Everybody wants to talk about philosophy and direction, but they can't think of a better way to express it than by plugging some numbers into an excel document. Any college Freshman knows that data can be manipulated in any way that you like. If I see another excel spreadsheet I'm going to get sick."

"I made a huge mistake working there, don't make the same"

What do you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"Place is horrible, people just walk around like zombies because atmosphere is so toxic."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"DO NOT WORK HERE, the turnover rate is unbelievable. They go through so many reps and have such a bad reputation they will tell you anything to fill the seats. If they tell you there is no turnover they are lying, they will also be very vague about what the pay is. They are always working on a new commission structure or say you could earn but never actually tell you what the plan is. Also they have been sued so many times all employees are forced to sign a waiver giving up their right to sue them for ANY reason. Any disputes are handled by a mediator that is of course hired by leaderpromos."

What don't you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"As a sales executive you will need to be skilled at multi-tasking, handling inefficient and highly unorganized processes, great at going with the flow and pretending to not see what you know you see going on."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Plan on several weekly meetings, low pay for a highly demanding sales position where selling more is not always a good thing. At leaderpromos the more you sell the more back office work you do. This includes data entry, marketing, customer support, billing basically everything but actually selling. Any mistake or problem usually leads to the company not paying what little commission the rep is due on an order."

"One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made was working there."

What do you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"The other sales reps are great people, something of a brothers in arms scenario. We all knew we were being taken advantage of so we all stuck together. Otherwise it is one of the most miserable places to work I have ever been or heard about."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"DO NOT WORK HERE!! Read the reviews both here and on other sites, they all say the same thing."

What don't you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"Everything...You are micromanaged and lied to every day. Management will do anything to take advantage of their clients and employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop blaming everyone for your ineptitude, there is a reason the turnover rate is 80%...it's not them it's YOU!!!!"

"could be a cool place, but it wont happen unless they treat people better"

What do you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"Fun coworkers, free products and sometimes free lunches (but it's usually donatos and the company doesnt pay for it, the vendors do)"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"dont believe all of the hype they tell you. dont work there unless you dont plan on being there long. also, they make you sign away your legal rights if you work there, so you cant sue them or work in the industry for a few years. if you stay there long enough to build a book of business, you cant take it with you and will have to start over if you quit. some people have been there for 5+ years and feel like theyre trapped working there forever."

What don't you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"pay is bad, benefits are bad (only 10 vacation days and NO sick days, so everyone comes in sick and spreads it around the office), everyone who works there is depressed & management only likes you if you suck up. if you complain, (even if its just constructive criticism) they try to get you fired. (unless you sell a lot. then you can keep your job, but dont expect anyone in management to be nice to you ever again.) one time, they showed glengarry glen ross at an all company meeting (the clip where alec baldwin says always be closing at the car dealership) and told us thats how we needed to think and sell. then someone put a sign on the coffee machine that said coffee is for closers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"listen. stop yelling at people when they tell you something you dont want to hear. admit when you are wrong. or at least pay better and give better benefits to make it bearable. get a real hr department so people can resolve problems without getting made fun of."

What do you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"My coworkers are pretty cool and the industry is interesting."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be aware of the dog and pony show that they put on to try to make it seem like you have the ability to make a lot of money, because you won't."

What don't you like about working at LeaderPromos.com?

"Management is horrible. There's too much favoritism and not enough caring about the overall well being of the team."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be open to feedback, and pay your employees more. Get an HR department so people can actually complain about problems without management turning it around on you. And if you paid people more, they would be happier to deal with the constant poor decisions that are being made."
