"Depending on the manager you are interviewing with you might not get the job simply because of a mannerism that you have. There is no consistency at all in the interview process."
What don't you like about working at Windstream Communications?
"I hope you really enjoy working 60-100 hours a week because that is what you will be doing. Also there will be constant pressure from management to 'shape the business through creative accounting.' Management compensation is very outsized compared to staff level compensation."

"My first suggestion would be for them to realize that if you work to make the job better you will retain more quality employees. In the past year my team has had 100% turnover as a result of the long hours and pressure from management. My second suggestion would be for management to be more willing to give teams the tools they need to succeed."

"It is very interesting working on the ISP side of things. YOu get a very different viiew of the world. Routing tables can get so large they actually fill up the Routers memory."

"Know your networking basics and have at least a CCNA. After that be prepared to see many different vender's equipment and get ready to view networking from a whole different angle."

"Honestly, my only complaint is that it is a 1099 contract position with no benefits. The work itself is a great experience."

"Bring on good contractors faster than 6 months. Many of these contractors are 1099 positions with no benefits at all and make keeping these positions difficult."

"Don't do it unless you are on the verge of being homeless or are interviewing for a back office position. The customer facing jobs are dead ends with too many Chiefs. AVOID."

"Management is too concerned with their own jobs, not mine. I mean nothing to the company. Their loyalty to me despite the fact that I am one of the top performers on the team and have not gotten a raise in 2 years has dropped to zero."
