"Our customer base is very unique. Most are rural area people. Calls can be challenging, they can range anywhere from wanting to know why the grass is green to wanting to know how to work their TV sets. I've been in support for the last 20 years now. It's fun when you actually fix something for someone."

"Knowing someone in the company would move your career along."

"They should get more involved with the entry level staff."

"It's a great team atmosphere. The upper management encourages free thought and they have an open door policy where they are either very receptive or tell you why things won't work but offer suggestions & other approaches."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just be yourself & be prepared to work. I was hired as entry level but my college resume showed I put in long unpaid hours because I had a passion about IT."

What don't you like about working at Specialty Answering Service?

"In the department I'm in, there are no real offices, it's a bit of a cubicle farm. The owners at Specialty Answering Service did this on purpose to encourage unity but I'd like a little privacy."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I'd like to see more focus on family. They have a lot of team building outings but more events where family is invited to mingle would be great."

"I like working on multiple different issues at once and solving them to the benefit of the school. It is because of this that I have gotten a good deal of experience and many opportunities to enhance my skill set."

"I would inform them that they must be prepared to work constantly without any clear sense of direction. I would say that they must be willing to take a heavy work burden."

What don't you like about working at Hamburg Area School District?

"I don't like that we are understaffed and are constantly expected to fulfill the work requirements of Tech Teams twice our size."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest that they invest more into their IT personnel as they have doubled the amount of computer hardware in the buildings without making a comparable expansion of the IT staff."

What do you like about working at Dell?

"Easy work, low commute, reputable company. Good clients, helpful floor managers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Better be emotionally stoic, inside and out. You will watch excellent agents be thrown under the bus, and you will need to be able to not react if it should happen to you."

What don't you like about working at Dell?

"Over-competitive. Poorly-devised and out-of-date tier-system is used to rank agents. Doing your best for weeks suddenly becomes no-good-at-all on the last week, due to a quietly changed policy."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Agent-Quality-Audits must peer-review for agent quality metrics. Policy-Quality-Audits must be implemented to analyze resulting Quality-Audit metric trends."

What do you like about working at Western Wireless?

"At Western Wireless, we felt empowered and valued. We were given excellent systems to work on and great training to go with it. It was a wonderful place to work, but sadly they were purchased by another carrier that closed the Call Center."

"No as they are no longer in business. Alltel bought them in 2005. Alltel was then purchased by Verizon."

What don't you like about working at Western Wireless?

"The new carrier that took over was from the South, far away and more of a micro-manger, not realizing the exceptional people they had on the West Coast."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Most employees want to give their very best. Empower them and have faith in their judgement and ability. Do not micro-manage as this lowers morale, creating a less effective team."

"Great company to work for. I had a personality clash with the boss, but overall it was a wonderful company."

What do you like about working at Idera?

"The culture was incredible and I loved my co-workers. They were wonderful. It was a very laid-back environment but we knew how to get busy when we needed to."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest. Be on time. Have knowledge of both Linux and Windows. Specifically VSS and filesystems and kernels. Also networking troubleshooting skill are also very important."

What don't you like about working at Idera?

"I had a personality clash with my boss that we never could work out. That would be the only down-side I can think of."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would have placed someone else in charge of our department as our current manager was clearly over-loaded with running 2 different support departments."
