"Very slow to embrace new technology, lots of favoritism, nepotism and the inability to adhere to their own rules and regulations. People who are connected can do anything steal, not have a license, be abusive to other employees and nothing happens if they are in the clique or connected in some way."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"They really need to hold everyone to the same standards. Senior manager needs to practice what they preach. Stop giving jobs to unqualified people because they are liked. They are putting people's lives in danger because these unqualified people are making decisions about transit operations."

"Flexible schedule, recognition, unexpected bonuses, chance for advancement (sometimes), freedom while working."

"Do not work the overnight shift. Dress in layers, sometimes it is very hot, sometimes it is cold."

"Bad hours, low pay, not structured, always hot, can be unprofessional, constant co-worker issues, unfulfilled promises, air-head managers, young employees."

"Get rid of lazy employees and recognize the good ones more."

"NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! Just one grimy place to work! Plant manager and HR are both horrible!!!"

"Stay completely away from this company!!! A major accident waiting to happen!!!"

"1. VAREL INTERNATIONAL----Smoke filled rooms they manufacture Drill Bits for gas and oil. Machines are 80 to 100 years old and they still try and use them. They break down every five minutes!!! COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED!!! Tools thrown everywhere!!! DANGEROUS!!! They blow up piece's everywhere!! They put them back together and still try and use them. IN TEXAS YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH ALL KINDS OF CRAP!!!! Plant Manager is a complete fool. OSHA needs to pay them a visit! FAST!!! HR person is just plain ignorant and doesn't know how to perform her job. Will not pay you after working 40 hours excuses Your check is in the mail."

"Understand your staff and how hard is it work on the selling floor. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Too many don'ts."

"Before the interview review the company web site, don't be afraid to contact the employer and request details on the position you are interviewing for or to ask for company literature."

"Some managers are reprehensible in abuse towards team members, yelling and embarrassing them on the casino floor and in the back of the house. High level corporate management is not aware of this because they are too insulated and rely far to much on ops meetings for feedback."

"Spend time with front line team members, listen to what is occurring, guarantee no fear of retaliation, thoroughly investigate managers/leaders that receive low survey scores. Dont overlook bad bosses because of their length of tenure or your relationship with them."

"Management has no clue half the time what they are doing.Hire and rehire that's the name of the game.Seniority has no value there.Management treats employees if you don't like it there's the door attitude."
