"I have worked here for 3 years and our dept. has a 50% employee turnover rate. A college degree in my dept. is a waste as there is no room for advancement. The manager in my department is terrible: unprofessional, shows favoritism, minimally competent. Overall leadership from lead techs to mgmt. is terrible. Very low morale, need to fire some techs but won't b/c they need the bodies. Bad work/life balance as they constantly change schedules around to meet corporate demands. Leadership needs to think things through before implementing changes that are doomed from the beginning. There are a lot of good experienced techs and their input is not valued. Even when you are asked for your opinion, it is rarely used. There is a lot of outside department influence within your dept. from a technical point from view from those who don't even know what your dept. does or you as a tech do. It is a solid paycheck with pretty good benefits though. Some job security as there is a high employee turn over."
"Nice company to work!! Good teams, good leadership."
"I have worked for Quest Diagnostics for just over 10 months and I can honestly say that it is the worst company I have ever worked for. Company time off policies are not properly explained at time of hire: all vacation requests for my department must be put in by September for the entire year coming up and time off is constantly not approved. I have been approved two days off in the 10, almost 11 months I have been there and all of my vacation days for 2015 were denied. There is also constant overtime nearly every day, causing everyone to work 10-11 hours a day with only a half hour lunch. Supervisors get precedence over regular hourly employees when it comes to getting any time off. This is a company that definitely plays favorites. Stay away!"
"Good benefits with low salary."
"I've worked for Quest Diagnostics for over 13 years. I find it a very stressful environment. Computer systems behind and lack of communication between depts. Lack of opportunities to upgrade level of position. Not much appreciation from work and efforts. Lack of resources to complete an outstanding service. Great variety of people from a diverse environment. Team effort and great benefits."
"Pleasant place to work, friendly environment. Micro management can be an issue in some departments. Many good benefits, Ride sharing rewards, yearly review process is standardized."
"Great place to work. Aside from aggressively outsourcing IT job overseas."
"I wouldn't work in the same department I was in."
"Quest Diagnostics is a great company to work for."
"I have worked for Quest for five years, and I have enjoyed my time there. I left in 2011 to complete my education and have rejoined the company after graduation. It is an excellent company to work for with great people and benefits. There is opportunity to advance professionally, but it may take several years. In all, I would recommend anyone to work there because they take care of their employees and pay a decent wage."
"Communication skills within supervisor and co-workers is poor."
"I work at Quest Diagnostics for 11 years. I was a fast-paced ever-changing environment. With over 43,000 employees, 2000 patient service centers there was always opportunity to drive change."
"I was excited to work for Quest Diagnostics Company. I appreciated the experience Quest Labs gave me. This job was a temporary position. Even though we were going through a transition period with Dignity Health outpatient labs, we did not have a break room or a private bathroom for the technician. It did not matter to me because I was in love with my position as a phlebotomist. The team I worked with was great as well as the management team."
"Quest is an overall great company to work for, but if you're looking for loyal coworkers and teamwork based jobs, look elsewhere."
"I have worked for Quest Diagnostics for 7 years and have not found the company to promote growth from within. There is limited opportunity for advancement. The more information and skill that I acquire, the more responsibility I am given but, with little to no compensation. This does not foster a positive working environment."
