"As for now it's great. The hours can be long, but you're always doing something. I don't know if they do raises anymore. The pay is okay, but $12.50 isn't really that spectacular for as much work as we do. However, customers can be really sweet and at the end of the day, it really is all about them."

Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens

What do you like about working at Walgreens?

"After the years I've given, I know my customers, I am able to provide better service to them. I challenge myself by knowing names and faces, and now, I keep tabs on how they're daily lifestyle choices affect their health."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Bilingual is a plus, but be prepared, you'll be expected to provide translations constantly, especially in Boston. Speaking Spanish is a massive plus."

What don't you like about working at Walgreens?

"The most stressful part is the immature bunch of middle aged women that I work with who prefer to gossip instead of do their jobs. The entitled women who constantly tell me I don't know how to do my job, when in reality, I'm doing a better job than they are, according to our managers. I'm not respected for my work there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I'd assure that all other employees would understand the flow, and based on the talent of each employee, I would create the best system to reduce wait time for prescriptions, and therefore, stress. I'd make time for each employee a week to discuss what I see as strengths and weaknesses so that we can improve the efficiency of our work."

Pharmacy Technician at Harris Teeter
in Baltimore, MD

What do you like about working at Harris Teeter?

"Comfortable due to years of familiarity. Felt like family, sort of... had high admiration for the owner of the company and their vision...great respect for her example of striving for perfection...great appreation for her tireless pursuit of new contracts.. loved her public speaking."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ok for short term...too much frustration as direct management style is not conducive to ultimate production."

What don't you like about working at Harris Teeter?

"Need to accomplish projects within more structure. This is not possible because the direct supervisor would interfere with getting things finished... it was not a prime concern for jobs to be completed and work focus was always on the direct supervisor as though they were a celebrity. Very controlling, received no ideas and considered any offerings of suggestions to be an insubordinate act. Direct supervisor always wanted the purple jelly bean. Upper management, on the other hand, expected production.... work focus... perfection... that is good."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Place the direct supervisor in another area other than production....she was too obcessed with her importance...not interested in getting the work out. required a lot of personal attention..needy for friendship..enjoyed telling depressing tales of her homelife, forcing one to listen... interrupted work flow so projects were sabotaged... made like it was unimportant.. then held workers responsible when it all hit the fan."

Pharmacy Technician at Rite Aid
in Arroyo Grande, CA

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"It's been a long time. Not a great place to work if looking for upward mobility."

What do you like about working at Rite Aid?

"I have a great boss that provides wonderful support and great flexibility."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Please, if you do wind up getting a job with Rite Aid, don't let it get away from you, pretty soon you will find yourself there, 10 years later with barely anything to show for it!"

What don't you like about working at Rite Aid?

"The company doesn't seem to value any of its employees. Employee Appreciation Days are twice a year, and instead of getting your usual 20% discount, they bump it up to 30%, not much if you ask most associates, and it always seems to fall on a Sunday, when you don't work and don't feel like going into work on a day off."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is way too much management, management EVERYWHERE with nothing to do but run the same information down a very long line until it hits me and my co-workers. They need to listen to their employees and focus on what matters. There is too much emphasis on numbers that don't matter and less emphasis on the patient experience."

Pharmacy Technician at Wegmans Food Markets
in Rochester, NY

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"OK. Some managers were great, some were bad."

What do you like about working at Wegmans Food Markets?

"Great hours, support for students, listen to employee concerns most of the time. Some bad apples (managers), but advancement and transfering is easy."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Great company to work for, some bad managers, but usually those tend to get weeded out within a few months as headquarters take complaints of employees and working conditions very seriously."

What don't you like about working at Wegmans Food Markets?

"Have a bad policy of hiding sexual harassment incidents and do not protect women from verbal sexual harassment. A few bad managers ruin the comapany's reputation with their treatment of women and pregnant women especially. They need to let people sit down to do their jobs if they are injured or very pregnant, some managers do not let them do this, even though their performance is not affected. It is wrong and discriminatory."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take a stand against sexual harassment amongst your workforce. Your younger female employees do not deserve to be silenced."

Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens
in Urbana, IL

What do you like about working at Walgreens?

"Repeat customers that you can treat like family. It is better than no job. At least I have income and some benefits."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't do it! Unless you can afford living off of 33 hours a week and asked to do more and more each day with less help."

What don't you like about working at Walgreens?

"They pretend to care about employees with a lot of chatter, but employees are not stupid and can read between the lines. Every few months a new budget is created and jobs are terminated or hours are severely cut back, but you still have to work 5 days a week and no steady hours, making it impossible to pick up a 2nd job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Great pay and benefits. 40 hour work weeks unless employee asks for less."
