"I've worked at Walmart Pharmacy for over a year now and I have to say that it has been a nightmare the longer I'm here. Inadequate tools to learn. Baptism by fire at best. Not a very good situation considering all the risks involved. My other coworkers are great for the most part. They will help and give instructions for the most part. A few devils advocates but minimal backbiting. I would not count on this however. I just got lucky enough to get a good group of fellow techs. Pharmacist-wise is a big problem. I really enjoy a few that I work with. However I have encountered a fair amount who treat us like their grunts and abuse us for their own benefit. The pay sucks. Good advancement at first but then you get stuck. No room to grow. You're just hooked and abused. The more you know the more you bust your butt while others slack. And the managers. Very rude and unprofessional. They expect you to do tons of extra promotion and crap and expect you to keep the customer safe. No one wants immunizations shoved down their throat. They want their medicine and they want to leave. They don't want to be harassed. Customer abuse and misunderstanding is one of the worst. People will scorn at you and hate you because doctors offices make mistakes and you can't get their medicine done because of the ever multiplying regulations. You will be forced into hostile situations because of narcotics, sudaphed, syringes, wait times, insurance issues. You will take 98% of the crap when it comes to insurance issues. Even though you have nothing to do with rejections you will be forced to explain issues to genuinely confused customers who think that you are responsible for their ignorance of insurance polices and formularies. I do not recommend Walmart Pharmacy Tech jobs to anyone due to the poor working conditions and pitiful treatment of the employees."

"I've worked for Walmart Pharmacy for 5 years. It was good at first. Everything was new. And you were helping people get their prescriptions. It was always busy and fast paced. But now with all the new regulations with the government healthcare changes, you don't know if you are coming or going. The attitude with Upper Management is either do the job or quit! Just in our district alone, 5 pharmacists either quit or got fired. 9 pharmacy technicians either got fired or quit too! And I recently left. Worked there for 5 years and nothing to show for it! Health & Wellness division is going to fall flat on their face, and it's going to be customers paying for it!"

"Absolute worst company I've ever worked for"

What do you like about working at Walmart?

"There was not really a single thing company related that I liked."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go elsewhere, go run, it's not worth the time nor the headache."

What don't you like about working at Walmart?

"The lying, cheating, backstabbing, snooping, spying on you during your personal time away from the job. Lack of communication, lack of an actual Open Door Policy - that's a joke. Management will defend management, and fire you, even if you're not in the wrong. The hiring of inept people as managers. The lack of benefits, how they hire everyone part time so they don't have to pay you benefits, and will work you full time for 2 weeks, and then give you next to no hours for 2 weeks to avoid making you full time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To have a manager, they should know how to be a proper manager. One that knows how to make a proper schedule, where one person is not doing all of the work."
