"I worked three years full time, most weekends (currently all weekends), all holidays, second shift. Started at 7.75 and only made it to 9.65 hourly. I was promoted to Inventory Specialist and received "Exceeds Expectations" at every review. I mastered the RX system was valued by both my pharmacists and patients. CVS has refused to pay me at least 10 dollars an hour, a wage that is being paid at many retail outlets and competitors in the area. There is nothing to love about this job, simply because there is no incentive to exceptional work."
"I hate the rude treatment, public humiliation, anxiety, stress, poor pay, no room for advancement, ignorance of managers, being treated like a slave."
"I love what I do because I am good at it, but the pay isn't that great. It's hard to find a good paying PT job."
"Enjoyed helping people get their prescriptions. It's sad when you can't even make time for them because you're too busy trying to help everyone else!"
"Work place is really good and I enjoy the work I do. It is important that one should love and enjoy the work he/she does because this makes the work easy for him/her; therefore, I keep this in my mind and work in the Pharmacy. That is the reason why I feel fresh and ready to help customers."
"I absolutely love working in a retail pharmacy. The ability to help people with their medical questions and concerns is very rewarding. As the first person a patient interacts with, a technician can have an outstanding impact on the customer. I love making connections with people and getting to know them. This, in turn, develops trust and a stronger patient adherence to their healthcare regimen. I love making a difference and saving people money where I can."
"I love working with patients. I see new people every day and I know that I can either make or break their day. Patients or customers always come into my workplace with a frown, knowing that they have to spend hard earned money, or knowing that someone, possibly a family member is hurt. I find it very humbling to know that I can be the person to help that patient smile while going through this issue."
"I love being able to help people and share with them the experiences I have had with similar events. It's hard working for the company that would expect higher customer service ratings when hours are cut with less coworkers working. Customers get impatient."
"Everything. The patients/customers. I enjoy dealing with nurses, doctors and the insurance aspect of it as well."
"Being in the pharmacy helped me improve in many ways from communicating with customers via phone to problem solving skills, and decision making. I enjoyed most of my time working at the pharmacy even on busy days. Most of all, I enjoyed my crew. My crew kept me encouraged and motivated me every day to work and do my best."
"I get to provide great patient care behind the scenes."
"I loved the fast place, customers, staff, learning new things, and some of the challenges I faced."
"Too repetitive and the pay stops after a while. I think it's average."
"I love the opportunities that I was able to get there."
Please give us a one liner to describe this review.
"Very hectic work environment and pressure not only from management."
What do you like about working at CVS?
"Some of the returning pharmacy customers are nice and understanding."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Listen to employees, appreciate their hard work, learn to accept your responsibilities and do not blame or accuse your employees."
What don't you like about working at CVS?
"The management is very poor and doesn't allow employees to be appreciated. They micromanage all the decisions and never appreciate your hard work. The management breaks many rules in order for themselves to look better in front of customers and make the technicians feel worthless."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to your employees and work with them because they help you keep the pharmacy going and customers happy. The employees are dedicated and hard working individuals just as the management thinks they are hard working and worthy of praise."
