"Increase the base pay. Provide the same bonuses that the partners receive."

"It is laid back and the management helps."

What do you like about working at Boehringer Ingelheim?
"They successfully incorporated a clinical approach to selling strategies that paid off. They accomplished this without sacrificing actual sales. Representatives from our company were highly respected by physicians given their clinical knowledge of the disease states we provided products for. In addition, BIPI, heavily invested in information technology that assisted us representatives on our daily sales analysis and plans."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be as clinical as possible, know the competition, and close your interview."
What don't you like about working at Boehringer Ingelheim?
"It grew too much too quickly, it over estimated their pipeline thus hiring too many representatives. this lead to a 30% reduction of sales force which I was part of."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Salvage the best of small company culture as they transition into big pharma."
What do you like about working at AstraZeneca?
"Management was open to the ideas and sales creativity of the sales force."

"Close your interviews!"
What don't you like about working at AstraZeneca?
"In retrospect, after working for a different pharmaceutical company, I realized Astra-Zeneca lack depth in their sales and clinical trainings. Their training was superior to other industries. Yet, in direct comparison with the sales and clinical training I received at Boehringer-Ingelheim, Astra-Zeneca's was sub par at best."

"Invest in sales and clinical training for sale force."

"I loved working at inVentiv Health and want to work for them again. They have always been honest and fair with me. Also, they tried to compensate me for my experience."

"Be genuine and have examples of how you are a self-motivated person and will give them an honest day's work."

"contract sales offers little security or package when contract is over."

"Keep the good managers happy and get rid of the rest. your sales rep retention will be better. Also, state up front if there is or isn't role over potential with the clients."

"My DSM- in Nasvhille, was the best- he was a reps manager and shielded his team from all the other BS."

"too many to list- and they wouldnt do it anyway"

"I liked the family atmosphere initially, but this changed over the years as they grew into BIG pharma."

"They laid me off. I would have continued on at BI if this had not happened."

"Let representatives treat their territories as their own company/business. No micro managing."
