"Motorola seemed more vulnerable to large layoffs and project re-prioritization due to economic factors. Could hire 20,000 employees in up market and following year lay off 20,000 employees in down market."

"Focus more on future technologies and be industry leader rather than reactive to industry trends. Motorola has had reputation in past for innovation and setting industry direction (cell phone, semiconductor chips) but lately seems more reactive to other companies leads."
