"it had growing pains that, sometimes couldn't be ignored, which made it difficult."

"I find that the company is growing and is more open to new technology and will continue to grow"

"just be yourself- very laid back atmosphere with a very funny Executive Director."

"Nowhere to grow. The organization is fabulous in how it treats its employees but the pay is very minimal and not able to move up."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Restructuring pay scales and growth. Not enough staff for job responsibilities. Staff is treated very well but has little pay and large amount of work worthy of 2-3 people."

"Great at first, good place to learn the reality of working for a global multI national corporation."

"Proceed with caution. It does have it's benefits but be realistic about what you can expect to achieve in such a large organization."

"In the end you are just a cog, used up and tossed aside when no longer useful."

"Quit. The revolving door of senior VPs and C suite is unproductive."

"It was not a positive working environment and there really wasn't anything I liked about it."

"It is a very difficult environment to work in, not a lot of positive feedback, lacking direction and good guidance, not very many people seem to do a good job. The moral is very low and most are not happy being there."

"Manager did not give good direction, not supportive, no positive feedback."

"I would take the time to build a strategic plan for the company and the product."

"This is a good company to work for, who puts family first, however there are some challenges"

"Lack of communication between departments, departments don't understand each others' role in the organization, brand alignment issues, too much bureaucracy - makes it difficult to make executive decisions"

"There needs to be changes made within the organizational social structure and the organizational structure if the company plans on growing"

"training was very thorough, which gave a good sense of basic store/company operations."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Interviewing is easy, basic, mostly done on the phone because they are too cheap to fly anyone in. Some basic IQ tests are required, easy to pass on a computer."
What don't you like about working at Eleven?
"disorganized, constant cost cutting, equipment to work with was always used and never worked consistently (eg-used laptops). Lots of nepotism, among top executives. Each department worked in a silo with no overall strategy or communication to the field.Most of the employees are miserable and can't wait to leave or retire."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Create a operations department that vets all emails and combines communications to the field. There's nothing like having every corporate employee email the entire field at $PM Friday to clear off their to do lists. This ensured field level people would be working every Saturday and Sunday to complete work.Also, please do a thorough survey on the field about how corporate employees feel about the support they receive, especially since the giant re-organization in 2011. People are very upset with no 401K contributions, frozen salaries.Lastly, there is NO diversity within this company- this is an old boy's club ."

"Dont expect to go very far with the current management."

"Micromanaging managers who have absolutely nO clue how to do their job and are threatened by young people."

"I'd start with getting a clue about what is going on. There are restructures every month or so and it seems as though they have absolutely no clear direction of the future."

"When accepting projects, make sure to have all components to complete in a timely manner that we have been given."

"The Best Buy work life balance is a huge plus! The concept of Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) is awesome but, in practice it creates a culture of managers that dial down their performance to only earn a passing grade. Relationships are really important and many employees have been mainstays since BBY was a regional player. Low accountability and expectations are frustrating. Consumer electronics is an exciting industry with fast product life cycles and awesome opportunity to identify unmet needs and develop customer solutions. Retail is fun but a flailing(or failing) ;) business model, makes work difficult and downright demoralizing."

"Find out if your business has the resources necessary to actually deliver on the goals and objectives. Also double check on the managers' people management credentials."
What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"Corporate ladder is a mess! Relationships and tenure dictate progress in many areas of the company while other areas are uncharacteristically competitive and difficult to make advancement. People managers run the gamut from really awful to pretty good. The strategic vision is led by old guard big box retail and lacks insight, focus, or the capability to deliver."

"Bring in new leadership team to reduce the legacy issues. Be bold! Revamp the business model! Stop the work that isn't aligned with the forward strategy."
