"Get it in writing because you will hear a lot about benefits which will fall prey to budget pressures while executives rake in their bonuses."

"Dilbert-esce environment where touted employee value was debased by a reality where advancement requires accepting total disrespect for work/life balance."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't be so focused on protecting your own piece of the pie or building your own mini-empire that it prevents sharing goals with the rest of the team."

"It's easy... which is indicative of a less than ideal job environment. They are often heavily understaffed."

What don't you like about working at Bloomingdale's?

"Terrible technology, political, no clear managerial direction, disorganized and haphazard leadership, never kept in the loop about big decisions... ex. promotions, terminations. Unmotivated associates and management alike. Additionally, they offer very poor benefits."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Move away from a heavy promotional calendar, it's meaningless. Focus on making employees feel valued! It's not rocket science, it's retail... simplicity works. Bottom line, people shop for product, not people."

"Flexible scheduling with very relaxed working environment. Pretty easy job for the wage"

"Very informal interviews. They don't ask the normal questions. Not what is your worst trait or anything like that. Its mostly about you as a whole and what your personally is."

"Starting off is hard as a server with most often only 4 hours week. Favoritism causes rifts between employee."

"Every manger has different ways they do tasks and expectations which causes huge confusion with new employees."

"Awful, exhausting, and demeaning."

What do you like about working at CDM Smith?

"My direct reports were wonderful and talented. We had to look out for one another since senior management did not."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't do it. Working at CDM Smith was the worse experience of my career. Hard work and excellence is not rewarded. I worked my butt off at CDM Smith. In exchange, employees were allowed to swear at me and send demeaning emails to me and my team, my boss implied that I was a liar, and senior leadership did not stand behind decisions they made, leaving my team hanging out in the wind. All of this from a firm that claims they want to be an Employer of Choice. Do yourself a favor and choose to work somewhere else."

What don't you like about working at CDM Smith?

"My direct managers were terrible. One did not have the courage to stand up for her team and the other micromanaged us to death. This was the most toxic work environment I have ever worked in. Employees were disrespectful and nasty to one another and no one held them accountable for their actions. Instead this behavior was tolerated by senior management even when it was brought to their attention. management. Grown adults bullied more junior staff and no one did anything about it. The compensation package was terrible; esp. the bonus program. My bonus was 1/20th of what it was at previous employers and what is at my current employer."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A major culture change is required. Start with RESPECT. Insist that co-workers demonstrate respect for one another or show them the door. Be open to new ideas...That's not the CDM Smith way is heard over and over again whenever anyone with new, fresh ideas suggests a change. Stop favoring tenure over competency. There is too much dead wood hanging around. COMMUNICATE HONESTLY!"

"I work with a bunch of very bright individuals in a collaborative environment. The company does a great job of incorporating change and adapting quickly. Hard work definitely gets rewarded."

"This is not the place for you if you are not a hard worker who enjoys a good challenge."

"Employer 401k matching is not great. A standardized annual review process would be nice."

"Passionate and creative coworkers. Nice benefits. HQ listens and helps programs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The usual. Be committed and willing to work hard. Don't come in with salary expectations that would be commiserate with positions in other non-profits."

What don't you like about working at International Rescue Committee?

"Low pay. Constantly told there is no money, yet there seems to be money to pay those at top at HQ increasingly higher salaries and to create new high salary positions. US programs are not seen as sexy and are under supported financially. Need to provide higher salaries at offices where there is a higher cost of living."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Consider increasing pay for Directors and Associate Directors in US programs. They are given a tremendous workload and aren't compensated nearly as well as their counterparts in other large non-profits. People may take the position, but not stay more than a few years."

"Treat your staff as equals who work hard and they will shock you every day. Little rewards such as kind words can make mountains move and memberships sell."

"Interview your owners on how much micromanaging they intend on doing. Read your contract , especially the hours portion.Refuse to sign a non-compete."

What don't you like about working at Hand & Stone Massage Spa?

"The owners are trained to put you down for every aspect of your job. They Video and Audio listen to everything you say. Micromanagement to an uncomfortable level. Never telling you you have done a good job. Unrealistic expectations of conversion rate. Threaten to clean house over numbers. Very low pay. Withhold bonus over numbers ."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Double up on your spa associates and make one shift manager for each shift covered."
