What don't you like about working at Kaiser Permanente?
"In my last position at program office, a hostile work environment was created. Pettiness, backstabbing, little to no training, inflexible management, inept management. Top down result setting with little input from the people who actually do the work. Kaiser is like working for the government. Though there are good managers, they usually leave or get relegated to the back of the room. Current management is more concerned with cutting cost and people and not in making strategic choices. Nepotism is rampant. Offshoring of jobs. KP is not a place where I would want to have a career. Its a place where you can get experience, but I would not stay in one department for very long."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to staff. Be more flexible with work schedules. Provide documentation and training. Provide tools needed to do job when person arrives. I was at the job for 3 months and still did not have all my access or ids to log on systems. It was a waste of time. I was not trained yet expected to do a perfect job. Anytime a mistake was made no matter how small, there was a meeting called and the situation was over-analyzed. Managers micromanaged the entire situation. Made the environment stressful and ridiculous."
