"I love the philosophy in that our product was one that all people need even though we knew that all cannot or could not afford it. I don't hate the long hours, but I found myself back in the home office very late into the night filling out paperwork even if my last client was 40 miles away... the last stop for the night was the home office."
"Again, the pay is great and room for advancement is outstanding. Unfortunately the hours are not the same as most insurance companies. The companies flexibility in this location for day hours is next to none. You are locked into nearly a year long night shift which isn't conducive if you want to be around your family. They also work every holiday so you will again be away from your family again. This would be a great job for a single individual without any kids who doesn't have any major attachments or obligations during the day."
"While it is very personally rewarding to help clients and provide excellent service to those who have been unhappy in their past experiences with the company, there is no financial reward for doing so. Only paid for selling new policies, not for required policy service to existing clients, and that income is lost by being charged back for any commissions previously earned in client's household and for lapses to policies sold by previous agents."
"I loved the freedom to control my own schedule. The downside is that you are entirely dependent on the familiarity of the name to get yourself in the door. After that its all just read a script and hope for the best."

"There is nothing that I did not like about New York Life."

"Management was very supportive. Their door was always open for questions."

"The support from the company itself regarding the systems the agents had at their disposal."

"Implement new computer system to make the job of the agent more efficient."

"Not really, just work hard and youll get out what you put into it"

"it is only based on commission. Would like to have a base salary."

"Base salary would be helpful and would allow people to work harder"

"I would just make sure you have an understanding that you are going to be driving over an hour to every meeting with no gas money provided and you are paid commission only"

"The hardest part about this position is how I was paid. Commission only was not for me and there was no gas or food money provided by the company"

"I would suggest targeting the Triangle as opposed to areas that are over an hour away"

"You should prepare to call several person to sell and earn a living."

"Cold selling to people you dont know. The insurance rates are competitive.from most insurance company."

"They should more insurance agent that are young and vigorous."

"keep an open mind and be persistent. Sales jobs are not as easy as they look"

"There was compassion with in the company and I enjoy team work more"
