What do you like about working at Aflac?
"The capability to earn unlimited income. Also, the team was very supportive and great training."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be open and truthful about your goals so they can guide you on how to accomplish that. Don't be afraid to ask questions, they will answer them for you."
What don't you like about working at Aflac?
"There was nothing that I didn't like at the company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest they continue to hold their weekly meetings. There is a lot of great information that is dispensed, and you can learn a lot from the veteran agents."
What do you like about working at Farmers?
"Freedom of outside sales, my own hours, getting things done."

"Farmers is a captive agency. You have to sell everything Farmers."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"We had to find our own leads, and that's it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"No suggestions. Farmers Insurance is a big company with small agencies inside."

"I would strongly recommend that an individual interviewing with this company fully understands the scope of their role as part of the team."

"Since this is a very small company, there is not an opportunity for professional and educational growth."

"Increase the educational opportunites for employees as this will benefit not just the employee but also the employer."

"The traveling to and from and hoping for a sale on hunch"

"All of Management must realize although your a Manager you must follow the rules and regulations from the company and your Supervisor, they are there to help you not to critize you"

What do you like about working at Insphere Insurance Solutions?
"You can make your own hours and be your own boss. There are no strict quotas placed on you."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you have an iron will to sell, don't mind a little dishonesty, and have no family or friends to spend time with, this job is for you. Remember though, you will have to chase management around to get what you need. This is not an easy job AT ALL."
What don't you like about working at Insphere Insurance Solutions?
"We were encouraged to trick people into buying life insurance and supplemental health. The sales process was shady at best: 1. After an unsuspecting customer goes looking for information online, we get their information as a sales lead. 2. Call them and insist on meeting face-to-face. If they ask for the quotes, confuse them on purpose. 3. Present life, health, supplementals, and other services as one large item. Only give them a single price, making it seem like they have to buy it. 4. Sign them up, and be sure it's done via automatic bank draft."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be honest about the job when hiring. I was told that we were going to be given people to call, we'd get paid twice a week, and that the pay was obscene. In reality, you only get maybe five leads. After that, you have to cold-call people and bother people on the street. Pay for health was not twice a week, but once a month. And payments seldom materialized, as you only get paid if someone qualifies, even after they've paid their first premium."

"be very honest. let them know of any concerns up front."

"there was often a lot of tension. not that great of communication going around."

"be more in touch with the little people. try to break the ice and be more interested in the people around us."

"I enjoyed the freedom to set my own pace and really impact people and their future. It was rewarding both personally and financially."

"Be prepared to really beat the pavement to drum up business. It's a lucrative business, but it will take real dedication and perseverance for the first three years."
What don't you like about working at New York Life?
"When I started the job initially, management left me on my own. I would have liked a more hands-on approach initially."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Make sure that your new agents get great training and hands-on guidance up-front and once they are ready to go, let them loose."
What do you like about working at American General?
"Even though the company culture is conservative, my office and district are more collaborative. I enjoy the camraderie and team work that most of us exhibit. I like the flexible schedule and autonomy."

"If you are interviewing as a Career Agent, know that you will need to put your head down and work hard for 2 full years to have a solid foundation in your practice. If you have any aspirations for management, the company definitely promotes from within and wants to move your upward if that is your desire."
What don't you like about working at American General?
"Improve technology and our specific office set up. Office is not attractive at all."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to the field a little more. Improve technology. Cut down tremendously on our use of paper and utilize more of a paperless system."

"I wish when I was hired someone would have told me don't try too hard - status quo is preferred"

"we were located in a VERY small town: which seemed to limit not only our market, but the willingness of everyone there to try new things."

"I dislike not being able to work in the legal field. Other than that, I enjoy State Farm."

"Spend more time with employees, and determine their needs and what they want to do."

"That you can be your own boss as long as you learn the material and are willing to work hard for it."

"If you are willing hard and are good at selling and cold calling. Then this can be beneficial."

"Strictly based on commission. Charge backs can get you in debt and they happen frequently."

"Nothing. I cannot change the culture of the company. It has been this way since the beginning."

"Remember, they are salespersons. Think about the downside of what they are, and are not telling you. If you can live with that, it's good."

"The duties did not match my personality or style of working."

"During the interview process, you shadow an employee for about an hour and get first hand knowledge of the kind of work you will be performing."

"Compensation wasn't enough for the job performed and some of the expectations were a little unrealistic and got in the way of providing good customer care."
