"A very good company, with supportive peers and good technology"

"Hospira would be a great place to work, however the management personnel are liars and will do anything to get their way regardless of how many people they crawl over to get it. Celeste in particular is the head witch who in my opinion should be sent to prison. People are getting physically damaged due to the forced shoe policy and many others are treated with overt disrespect. You say anything to raise a red flag and they will lie, cheat and steal to get you gone!"

"I have worked at Hospira for 3 1/2 years. The company has been strong in trying to be customer oriented and promote a quality product. Keeping employees better involved and promote team building would further decrease turnover but create a system that would reduce error and increase productivity."

"I have worked at Hospira's San Diego location for roughly six months now and while I would not claim to be familiar with any other site, I can offer some insight for this location. Hopsira's San Diego location is an engineering site that focuses on (re) designing medication infusers that are used in hospital environments. The work is pretty typical for a large company but the tools they provide are good even if the people are, at times, a little too uptight and rigid."

"Ego abounds. Real commitment to customers is hard to find"

"Make management adhere to standards...not excuses. Politic and ego get in the way of real customer and patient care."

"Compensation was very good, vacation is nice, some of the benefits are good too."

"Long Interviews with many many members of your area's leadership team. Be prepared to go through every different style and way of interviewing. When speaking to VPs make your questions vague enough to let them talk about themselves"

"Work Life Balance is horrible, management is too risk averse and it is hard to get anything done"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"get rid of your committees upon committees upon committees to get things done. Lots of people have great ideas about how to do things better but you just keep putting more processes and paperwork in their way."

"The people are really friendly. The on-site cafeteria is also a plus, however it is only open on weekdays. Most positions will require you to work half a weekend."

"Ask a lot of questions specific to the job you are applying. After getting your offer letter speak with the Manager of the department specifically about expectations and duties."

What don't you like about working at Hospira?

"I did not like the 12hr shift work, including weekends."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Prior to hiring new employees have a plan for what job they are going to be doing. Also, educate HR more on the position or be available yourself for any questions after the offer letter is sent."

"If you are looking for a career that gives a lot of hands-on experience, this is not the job for you."

"This company is not doing very well, and they do not believe in change. They are still using equipment that is over 30 years old and the FDA is really cracking down on them."

"Upgrade the equipment and the FDA won't hit you as hard."

"The people that work there are very nice, friendly and collaborative."

"Make sure you talk to people to used to work there. Understand the culture before you accept the job."

"Constant turnover in leadership, constant change in priorities, lack of leadership"

"Make tough but necessary decisions faster. Instill consistency, value people"

"It is not boring. It is exciting and different every day."

"You may want to consider other oportunities in a year or two."

"The systems they use are not utilized to their fullest potential to make work more efficient. Decisions are made based on reaction rather than fore thought."

"Hire at least 50 % more talent in the service departments: Quality, Engineerring, IT, and Compliance."

"The company has modified the SAP data base to try and simplify it but have made it more complicated and added more steps to achieve something so simple."

"I am not using any of the skills I have worked hard to achieve for my Business Management degree."

"I would suggest that be prepare for SDLC questions and be aware about the UNIX environment with VMWare environment"

"Lack of training, I would like the company provide more training opportunities."
