Working at Hertz in Fort Worth, TX: 1 Employee Reviews

Assistant Manager

"It didn't work for me, but may work for you"

What do you like about working at Hertz?

"Hertz has a good vision, I just don't think that it's well communicated, and no one knows how to put the pieces of the puzzle together, I liked my boss, my co workers and a few customers. When times were good, they were really good. When they were bad, it was hell on earth."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be sure that you have realistic expectations. It's a sales job with long hours, below average pay, and lots of stressors. Be prepared and honest with yourself. If you want the job, tell them you can sell, highlight sales experience and how you made your previous boss or company look good. If you're lucky, you'll be like my boyfriend and start out at the bottom but be recognized for your hard work, and have management looking to promote you at every turn. Hopefully you'll get the doors to promotions and decent bonuses thrown to you if you can manage to hang in there and roll with the punches long enough. It's a job, so it won't be perfect. If it works for you, work hard for it. If it doesn't, give it the deuces and tres and be out."

What don't you like about working at Hertz?

"Long hours, no time to rest, or social life, and below average pay."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think that many managers at the branch level are great. I think upper management is the problem. They need to convey the great vision they have to the branch level, pay employees what they're worth and stop treating them as second class citizens. From there, I believe customer service will improve."
