What do you like about working at North Jersey Media Group?
"When it was very busy I enjoyed hustling between the sales associates and assisting in getting a design approved and shipped to press in a timely fashion. I enjoyed that trust and teamwork we all shared."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It does offer good thumbnail and thinking exercises every hour with demands from sales and it is invigorating but somewhat frowned upon. Be weary and learn prepress with books and meet other people since they do not offer training. Adequate starting point but not much longer for a year once you are comfortable with your press ready skills to move on."
What don't you like about working at North Jersey Media Group?
"A lack of art direction from the beginning and too much of a burden on the magazine art director to work with weekly sales. Production line format was hard to work around when trying to help sales reach their goals with positive, effective selling advertisements."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Focus less on weak points and more on strengths of each individual and more so the group's strengths. Trust is something that is hard to find in the weekly creative services and exercises in constructive criticism would be appropriate for everyone."

"I was graphic designer for web, not more than that."

"They asked technical things for web designing and not more than that."

"This job had very low creativity. I was limited. I wanted to be creative beyond my limits, especially in motion graphics."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management should be perfect, and every time you should be careful with your employees, because they are like kids. If you behave and pay well, then you will get good business and progress."

"Here I am not able to show my high level skill of Graphic productivity. Specially I am looking for motion graphics like 2D cartoon animation production for TV broadcast."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My suggestion is, before starting any work, job description should be well refined and cleared. This is top priority of management. If there is no proper structure of work processed then in the end their would be wastage of time and not good quality product on time."

"Look for design work outside of DeKalb Il."
What don't you like about working at American Marketing & Publishing?
"Intense deadlines, quick turnover, high consumer rates for ads and low expectations for designers, quantity over quality is the motto here. I always felt like their clients were getting ripped off."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Don't be such penny pinchers. Allow the creatives to be a 'lil creative. Keep middle management from constantly pushing you to produce faster. Basically allow more than 15 minutes to produce a 1/4-1/2 page ad a client is paying upwards of $1,000 for."
