"It can be a magnificent place to work, but they narrow cast openings and tend to stick people in jobs without any intention to develop them, unless you are a hi-pot (high potential) candidate."

"I dislike the management culture's belief in heroes, which is part of a belief that nothing is done wrong by leadership; it's just that the idiots who've latched onto the company are too stupid to execute their work."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Allow and encourage more career broadening. Also, keep an eye out for supervisors who radio in PMPs!!! (i.e., not really doing them). Fire managers who are too gutless to promote their departments. If (on the other hand), what looks like weak managers who are not promoting their departments were put there precisely to gut those departments, just be rid of the damn department. Fire that manager AND the person who put him there."
