"If you've never had a door-to-door job and you're looking to throw yourself into a new world and increase skills that you've never thought you've had, this company is perfect for you. Just make sure your resilience to failure is high."

"Management was very poor and it led to extreme pressure from my superiors to keep performing at a new peak every week."

"Top producing agents should be treated with respect instead of being pressured to work at unreasonable expectations."

What do you like about working at Dollar General?
"It is a growing company with over 10,000 locations. You don't need an education to work here."

"Don't waste your time. It will be all promises with no results."
What don't you like about working at Dollar General?
"I don't like the absolutely horrible district manager who plays favorites with the people she likes. Lack of payroll hours means a store manager practically lives at the store. Successes are never mentioned, but anything wrong always is."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to suggestions and improvements from store managers. We are the field people."

"I like the training and development of staff. I like turning a store around by reducing turnover and shrink."

"Ask lots of questions about work environment and what expectations are."

"I don't like very long hours. Tasks and responsibilities were excessive, given the labor hours."

"Put a lot more emphasis on training and development. Reward star players."

"My complaint is not with the company as such but with the economic and social policies of my country."

"I have no advice, I feel that the company is on the right track. The only thing perhaps would tell her not to deviate from the plans that have been created"

"Be open, honest, and willing to place others before yourself to make sure the team suceeds at reaching it's goals and it will be reconized and rewarded."
What don't you like about working at Patrick Industries?
"The industry we supply. In this area our largest customer in the housing industry decided a few years ago to take most of the products and services we provided in-house which has proven to be unsucessfull, but with such a large capital investment is irreversable."

"No, they do a great job. The only thing I could say is keep doing what you're doing."

"We had some ownership micromanagment that did not fully understand the overall operational scope"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management was fine---no issues. Ownership was an issue. Advice would be to leave the operation alone--grow the company by purchasing more assets to exploint the market. Use the month end P and L-etc to ask questions and drill down on any concern areas"

"Growth opportunities, reputable, allowed business decision freedom that is rare in the corporate retail environment."

"Ask the interviewer what qualities/skills/abilities are necessary in this company in order to be considered promotable. If one does not know exactly what is needed togrow within the company, the applicant will be starting a journey in which he/she does not have a clear path or road to travel on that facilitates success.."
What don't you like about working at Firestone?
"the sales pressure envirornment and lack of understanding that mistakes may happen that are out of the GM's control. Mistakes that are avoidbale are one thing, but general mgmt should not lose job security over simple mistakes. I would recommend upper mgmt to coach, mentor, advise or lead the manager to utilize preventative management techniques to avoid future mistakes, not release them."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Work with subordinates, not against. Business/operational/human resource related decisions should also benefit subordinates just as much as the company and management. Making changes that negatively impact lower level employees (that are just as vital to the company as mgmt) are not recommended."

"The fact they like to micro manage you to the point that it was hard to really do your job."

"Too not micro manage the general managers and let they have the freedom to do their job."
