"Do not enjoy your work and clients too much as these circumstances can lead to disappointment."
What don't you like about working at IFCO Systems?
"Pervasive culture of distrust. Can be very disconcerting and distracting but one must learn to live with it in order to be successful. Ultimately, it was the primary reason for my departure."

"Learn to embrace your talent and lend genuine support rather than fostering a culture of fear and intimidation."

"Make sure you are ready for the position. Development is not guaranteed once there."

"It is overly constructed in some areas but lacking in development. There is a need to improve training of managers past the shift supervisor and assistant manager positions."

"Put more effort into developing managers on a personal level. They are technically able do jobs but lack of personality with staff."

"Never boring, very self directed, working with food and customers."

"Don't do it, the company is a sinking ship and they'll work you till you give up."

"Most of the other management was not well trained/skilled at their jobs. Most of my workload involved picking up their slack and cleaning up messes left by other people."

"Quality products and services require quality staff. Quality staff require competitive compensation and reasonable hours/work loads. Also poor sense of most effective ways to spend/save money."

"I loved the autonomy, the opportunity to work with internal customers and division leaders and the chance to help grow my area of the business through strategy, business development, team mentoring and leadership."

"Be yourself. Some leaders and hiring managers are open to change and hiring from the outside to bring in new talent and ideas."
What don't you like about working at Gartner?
"Trying to always stay ahead of the curve in technology can be challenging. At the time, many companies were consolidated which made it tough to meet sales goals with fewer accounts remaining in the industry or space."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"When acquiring companies be sensitive to the disparate cultures. Management should not go around puffing themselves up as superior which demoralizing to acquired management."

"Not much, just watch out for employees stealing from you."

"Sadly, I think this company is headed for obscurity without some major changes. Better looking somewhere else."

"Tried to be to many things to too many people and sort of lost the vision."

"For middle-management, listen to those who are on the front lines. You might learn something."

"The average employee was 20 or younger and was only part-time. They did not show the decipline for a career, which was my goal."

"Hire good strong assistance. Remember its not about doing the job its about doing the job well, 60-70 hour work weeks tire out managers."

"The people I work with. The product selection. Our customer base is in general very good to work with."

"Don't wast your time until the company makes some changes attatthe DM & RVP levels...someone is going to have to grow a pair and stand up for the great people that work very hard day in and day out in the stores."
What don't you like about working at Staples?
"Senior management. This company is bleeding managers and if the economy was better, I think there would be an exodus of talent. There needs to be a culture shift to where the stores determine the day to day and not corporate."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"See paragraph above and learn to focus on the big profitable business areas. We are really focused on a 90dollar on site each week...out of a $100k sales week...come on, get real."

"1. Since governments are involved in this project, there are a lot of politics going on in the company. 2. Career path is capped with no more advancement."

"I would suggest management to utilize outside sources more, instead of hiring internal staffs. It will create a huge burden in the future when government stop funding."
