Die Cast Maker

"It was a great job until Ford moved the work out of the plant or downsized."

What do you like about working at Ford Motor?

"It was busy until they started downsizing."

What don't you like about working at Ford Motor?

Transportation Repair Supervisor

"I believe that FORD is a good company and they will make it through this Auto Industry slowdown."

What do you like about working at Ford Motor?

"It was a good place to work and the salary was pretty good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I know that they are working hard to keep the company alive and they may not be hiring much right now but I believe that if the company needs what you do, you need to do your best to sell yourself to them."

What don't you like about working at Ford Motor?

"I came in as a supervisor, what I thought was an entry level position, and planned to advance to an engineering position as I had an engineering degree. Unfortunately I did my job so well that I was not ever moved up into that engineering position. People who came in as a supervisor and could not handle that got promoted to engineering and left me behind. On April 4, 1995 I was a Salary grade 6 Supervisor of Hourly Employees and on June 27, 2008 I was released as a grade 6 Supervisor of Hourly Employees. That is why I have a low opinion of career advancement at FORD."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Again, if you have someone who does a good job and keeps your boss off your case, be open to promoting them and not keep that person in the same position to keep you out of trouble."
