"I would not have decided to outsource and would have kept me."

"Great atmosphere, people are nice. Great, benefits. The company does have extra benefits. Gatherings, parties, etc..."

"You have to go through TRS which is a contracting company. Make sure you get it in writing that you can go permanent in the company within a certain ammount of months, or you could be there for years in a contracting position."

What don't you like about working at Fluor?

"Hard to get promoted, or move up in the company. No learning, educational skills"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More skills training. I was there for three years, and would have liked to go to more training classes. Or just have a one on one training with skilled peers. It happened once."

"Good pay and very little work. Good vacation time every 3 months."

"Apply for the highest position available right from the start. Save your money from the start so you can leave as soon as possible."

"Constant fear of losing my job. Not seeing enough americans employed. Redundant work in triplicate."

"I would start by making people less scared of losing thier jobs every day."

"Living conditions are very rough, regarding the war zone where we were located."

"To much unnecessary paperwork, too many supervisors. Most of the time very stressful."

"Many times we addressed them regarding problems that cost the company lots of money."

"FFluor needs to get there ship in shape or run for the hills. I have seen contract groups come and go."

"Stay on you p's and q's and make sure that you ask questions."

"The work can get monotonous and it really doesn't challenge the technical background earned in school."

"Keep up the good work but encourage your employees to further their education so that they can do more research."

"They make it sound great until like me about 9 monthes into your contract they change the rules."

"When you go for a physical they make-up mystery ailments so as now they can pay you half if not less of your salary."

"Stick with the agreement that you have made with people."

"Do the best you can at the job you are hired to do and you will be noticed. Be flexible and open to opportunities. Network, network, network!!! Making connections at Fluor is how you climb the ladder and is essential to career longevity."

"Fluor is a very large company with several employees. Sometimes we place people in management positions over functions that they really don't have any or much experience in. If they are just managing people then this is not really a problem. The problem is when these people make decisions that impact the particular function that they are managing (and ultimately the company) without having good background knowledge to support it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I feel that that some groups get stuck on a way or process for doing business and are unwilling to change. Even if what the way they currently perform work is not successful. I believe that there comes a time when executive management has to stand up and say What you are doing is not working. Just doing business like this more is not going to bring you success. I want you to come to me with a different plan."
