"The biggest challenge is trying to staff and adequately resource programs that are incrementally funded or grossly underfunded at direction of Headquarters. As an Engineering Manager, I have enjoyed the ability to acquire, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that is technically agile to meet challenges. Due to the nature of our facility's work, we were able to reduce non-recurring engineering costs by 40% using innovative, agile software design."

"Don't do it unless you want challenging work that will get pulled out from under you at the drop of a hat. And, you get almost no pay to do it!"

"Employees and middle management completely hamstrung by dictatorial owner who values no one."

"Retire. Let someone more caring take over the business and watch it soar."

"Don't come to interview with Parker CSD unless it's your only option."
What don't you like about working at Parker Hannifin?
"Difficult to maintain work-life balance, not allowed to hire enough people to do the job, promote yes-men instead of people with capabilities, inconsistent HR policy, unfair hiring and promotion practice."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop nepotism hiring and promotion practice, hire more engineers and technicians, instead of project and program managers."

"It's a very stable company. Most co-workers are nice and pleasant."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Unless you cannot find job elsewhere, don't work here. If this is your only option, be very prepared for all the HR type questions, don't worry too much about technical things. Most managers are not all that technically sound to be able to figure you out."
What don't you like about working at Parker Hannifin?
"A complete sweatshop. Long hours, low pay, dificult to maintain work-life balance, no recognition for employee going above and beyond, nepotism, promote mostly yes-men, do not value employee's technical abilities even though it's an engineering company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop nepotism. Try to promote within instead. Get some backbone and stand up for your employees once a while."

"TyCo Telecom was a good place but went down along with the telecom industry."

"Overall friendly and supportive culture. My director was supportive and empowered us managers in decision-making."

"Make your own judgement based on what you see and perceive during the interview. It's changed drastically since I left."
What don't you like about working at Tyco?
"Legal troubles of CEO - Dennis KoslowskI - brought about bad times. In the end, the Telecom branch got little support from the home office."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Rebuild to a more trusting environment. Remove fear and distrust. Hold company officers (and employees) to a strict ethical standard."

"Try to remain cognizant that there are many layers to the organization, and it is imperative that they resoect their roles as equal to the job they are applying"

"The structural changes in managment has caused an immense slowdown in productivity through multiple program activities"

"Focus on the toe 3 programs and make it a companywide initiative to achieve"
