"management and engineering, are still very disconnected in my opinion."

"Make it a better place to write code.. (QA, environments, etc)"

"A good place to work. Respectful & supportive culture. Too many complainers"

"Mostly good people. Respectful work culture. Lots of projects going on...there's always stuff to do."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"The company is willing to take risks in hiring people with no prior experience in energy storage devices...this is good if you don't have those experiences. Just be sure to emphasize your strengths."
What don't you like about working at Quallion?
"Quallion has mostly good people, unfortunately there are some folks there who just sit around and complain all day. Everyone knows who they are. As the saying goes...even a little crap can ruin a perfectly good bowl of ice cream."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Identify the whiners and complainers and get rid of them. Everyone will be much more happy. I know of at least 2 people who left the company because they couldn't stand the constant whiners and their negativity. Also be more proactive in employee retention."

"Work mission is great. Some of the work we do is being done no where else in the world."

"We do not have the tools or regular funding support to complete tasks on time"

"More lines of communication upward. This is a real problem."

"Benjamin Biomedical is a very relaxed company that is fair on rules and regulation. A very cool and some times calm work environment."

"You work hard for the company because you believe in it, and at the end the pay-out you have been waiting for may not be there."

"Have faith in those who work hard becuase they may just be the ones who care about how the company grows."

"Significant access to resources capital, etc. and also opportunities to advance in the company or move to other divisions."

"Good opportunity for a young person who may wish to move around and gain a broad work experience. Need to accept some level of bureaucracy and conform to corporate processes and systems."

"Large size results in overly-bureaucratic environment. Sometimes it seems that we are in the PowerPoint presentation business."

"Look into actual empowerment of employees rather than use as a slogan only."

"I do not like to think or speak negatively about previous employers. There will always be differences in ideas but the main goal is to keep the company moving towards its objective."

"Be willing to be in the trenches with your team. A great manager should be willing to roll their sleeves up and help the team meet their objectives when required. A true leader leads by example."

"Too much favortism in the Boone location, and the team workinf in Wilkesboro was often the target of negative criticism"

"It was good to work for this non-profit organization. BPE had federal and state grants to winterize churches, shelters and other non-profit's buildings."

"Know your building codes, and have a good understanding of new construction."

"The owner was difficult to contact for some questions. He is also a college professor."

"Text message communication with the owner would have been more ideal, rather than voice mailbox being full."
