"I love the camaraderie drivers have here in Hawaii. Regardless of what company you are driving for, drivers wave or throw a shaka as they drive by. Being a woman, seeing customers surprise and shock when I get out of the truck is humbling because there are some men who admit they would not have been able to back the semI in the dock. I hate inconsiderate drivers. As a CDL driver I have to be extra careful for drivers that cut abruptly in front of a semi."

"The work itself was not so bad, but the managers never allow for you to get done when your route is finished. I love being on my own and making sales happen based on my own initiative. The hours you have to put in to make a decent amount of money is not worth it."

Unfortunately, with some dishonest companies, It takes a few months of invested career work before it is obvious that they had been making empty promises for just about everything. My lead driver was so far behind on his back pay that I lent him $350 of which I will probably never see again."
