"Dell is going through a transition and it has been going through this for 7 or more years. Unfortunately, a large number of execs, that have been brought in, continue to leave shortly thereafter."

"Focus on a long term strategy. Stop reorganizing. Give people authority and hold them accountable for delivery."

"Management was always pushing warranties. The warranties were not very good."

"I would recommend they integrate the suggestions of the reps more frequently so the reps do feel like they have a voice that is heard and respected in the company."

"Every technology known is somewhere in Dell. You can use it - because they have miserable controls in place!"

"If you have to have work - go there. If not, look elsewhere. Those more senior people in Austin have more sense than to hire on there."

What don't you like about working at Dell?

"Management stinks. No loyalty to people. Teammates are stabbing each other constantly to get ahead. Inappropriate relationships between boss and subordinates are frequent. Repeated failures are tolerated."

"Take to heart what you read on DELLHELL, it is years old and absolutely true today still."

"Focused on working as a team to meet the client's needs as well as the needs of the work mates."

"Just be yourself, but sell yourself. I know that Dell was making changes to that would be beneficial to staff even though they are tightening their belts like most companies, but I feel potential to excel is available."

"Not being able to obtain needed training to enhance my skill set and be able to better serve the clients. Could not get reimbursement or pre-paid training for Business Analyst courses or SQL."

"I would ensure that ALL employees have tools such as paid training available, so the contractor/FT can obtain skills that could enhance their work performance as well as their skill set."

"Initially, the freedom to make decisions and work with multiple organizations both internal and external to the company."

"Be positive and able to demonstrate your ability to work within a highly structured but disjointed environment."

"As the company grew, it seemed to lack focus and grew increasingly bureaucratic. More and more levels of management approval became necessary to make progress in development. Products were launched without clearly defined business goals and commitment."

"Devise workable growth plans for various groups. The direction to grow services was disjointed, grew too fast with unrealistic budget, profit goals. Divorce support systems from legacy systems."
