Submit a Review"It is not much of a challenge trying to become a delivery driver, I would have to say that the most challenging part of the job is learning the area in which you are delivering to. What did I love about this job? Well I would have to say the customers were the best, sometimes they were a pain, but for the most part they were awesome. The only things I disliked about being a delivery driver is if you do it long enough, it will start to feel like The Matrix."
"One thing I like being a delivery driver is seeing the customers, building a relationship with them, making sure they were taken care for, and the little bit of freedom of driving. The down fall is the heavy lifting, the pay rate, and the hazards of driving on a daily basis."
"The pay for the job is dependent on the hours and days worked as with any other tip-based position. Generally, during the high-traffic shifts, the more effort I put in, the better I made out. The customer interaction and weather were very trying, but overall I found the job very rewarding."

"Hates: crummy tips, traffic, road raging clowns, 3 dollar per gallon fuel, speed bumps, apt complexes, wear and tear on my car, did I mention tips aren't good"
"Love driving, happy customers and making food. Hate not seeing gratuity when I am willing to put miles on my car to do a service for customers. $1 a mile is minimum respect. The store only supports half of the income. Be nice to your delivery drivers."

"Assigned routes and trucks. Monday through Friday work schedule. Performance based pay."

"You have to be slightly fit to perform the delivery driver position. If you consider your self too old or too pudgy...don't apply. The job requires a good attitude because whatever may go wrong with the route, its outcome will depend on you."
What don't you like about working at US Foods?
"H.O.S. laws constantly hanging over your head. The company is very strict on the H.O.S. laws--two violations within a year forces a person out the door!"

"Promote more from within. Say thank you more often than normal."

"Good pay, yearly raises, new equipment, clothing and boot allowance."

"This job is a very physical job. It is very fast paced and very little training is given."

"Lied to by management, dangerous loads, not enough equipment to do my job right."

"Start with fresh management, listen to the employees about problems arising in the work areas."

"There is a lot of negativity. Too many people don't tip the drivers."

"Calm down! This is not a life or death company."

"immediate supervisors lack of support to the drivers in the satelite domiciles"

"Need to keep all drivers informed of changes including the out lying domiciles"

"Be honest to the management team. If you cant drive well, then you dont need to be a delivery driver"
