"These days the only thing that makes me happy is seeing my favorite patients."

"Be sure this is the career you want, because once you're here, you're here forever."

What don't you like about working at DaVita?

"DaVita is all about numbers. Your hours are based on how many patients are at your clinic. Our clinic is getting slammed but we can't hire another nurse because the numbers say we're doing fine with our current staffing. Nurses spend between 43-50 hours a week working a 4-day work week. It's impossible to move within the company too. DaVita loves to hire from the outside so much that a lateral move is like pulling teeth. (I still haven't pulled this off.) Oh, and they don't match any of your 401K!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop all the micromanaging or just do the task yourself."

"I liked the strong bond of the team and management."

"Bring your A game, and be prepared to interview with high-level execs!"

"There were no benefit options for contractors or part-time employees."

"Discuss with employees the different opportunities and growth within the company."

Their Denver office is beautifully equipped with necessary technology, and they demonstrate care for the environment by providing extensive recycling opportunities. A team environment is essential to DaVita's success, and the company demonstrates its core values in everything they do."

"Davita/Lifeline is the absolute worst place to work, Managers have little or no experience or knowledge of the medical field. All that matters is encounter numbers. Annual bonuses were promised, but never forthcoming. Benefits are terrible, annual raises are a joke.CEO has a monthly salary in excess of 1 million dollars. Do yourself a favor, if you are considering working for Davita/Lifeline, seek employment elsewhere."

"Really a horrible place to try to build a career. I had to threaten to quit to get a promotion I had been doing for more than 2.5 years. After communicating my promotion my director realized that she had made a mistake by not promoting me sooner as the rest of the organization saw me in the position. Now that I've been promoted I'm not allowed to do my role, but I'm currently stuck hand holding people and being excluded at every turn. Good ideas are not encouraged, toeing the company line is."
