"Worked for Cablevision for over 5 years, very good pay but very high standards. Management very good but some bad ones who are very particular about quality and stats. Job can be draining due to dealing with general public."
"Strong company, but there are few opportunities to move up and the tools provided to do the job are old/outdated/unable to use."
"Great benefits but you are forced to treat customers as if they were walking in a fog if you want to keep your job regardless of their attitude or wisdom."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Almost anyone can get the job, even people with no technical background, but if you want to up your chances, know your computer and network terminology if only for the interview. If you do not like the environment, do not mention looking for another job to anyone or you will be gone faster than static electricity."
What don't you like about working at Cablevision?
"I don't like the forced assumption that all customers are unable to think for themselves, the lack of empathy towards employees, or that some employees sometimes don't do their job correctly, which causes your responsibilities to be exceeded at times. I also didn't like the fact that they hired and trained some people with zero technical background for phone support, but wouldn't train me on what I didn't know (which isn't much) in order to let me switch departments internally to become an installer because I had no formal experience (re: my resume)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I suggest they focus on the customer on a per-call basis to resolve their issue in a timely manner, cut the fluff out of conversations if it's not necessary to reduce call times and caller queues, and have some form of emotion for their employee situations."
"Great benefits, horrible condition, uncaring management."

"Be careful because tech support for cablevision is not as hyped up as it sounds the first few days. The job description requires you to know in depth knowledge of computers, however the job is very, very basic when it comes to computer knowledge and they teach you what you need to know anyways. Keep in mind very few people actually stay past a few months. It is also an environment that employees get health problems often from working due to stress."
What don't you like about working at Cablevision?
"Employees face VERY little respect, your work goes unnoticed often, exhausting place to work, very strict environment, horrible management, constant lying to reps, information is often different from one person to another, training needs much attention, very little communication between management (also very little communication between training team and supervisors on floor), delay of information that effects customers greatly, employees are constantly told to lie to customers, highly unethical place to work, very hard to receive days off even if it means family member is sick in hospital or you're getting married (true story of mine). Very unprofessional atmosphere to work in despite what the job description says.Too many people get fired or quit within the first few months, I think it's ridiculous that I was considered a senior within a year of working. People continue to get very sick because of the stressful environment, I did not stop being sick until after I decided to leave Cablevision. They try to beat it in you that you can move in the company but it is difficult especially considering they bash you for very little things like forgetting to remind people of the answer center online while speaking to a customer on the phone."
