"Offering businesses an opportunity to expand their employee benefit package at no cost. It also offered me flexibility with my schedule which I needed when my children were little."

"Aflac will appoint any licensed insurance agent because they only pay commission on sold policies. I would tell anyone considering Aflac that it is not easy to earn enough money to live on because of the competition in the industry. You must have a good work ethic, willing to step into aggressive cold calling and business generation activity."

"The job is 100% commission without any benefits."

"Ensure that those promoted can do the job at hand and are not promoted beyond their capabilities or comfort level."

"Perhaps looking into a 2nd job as it may alleviate some of the stress of having to make money immediately. This may allow a new agent to focus on learning the job and building a base of clients through networking and cold calling rather than giving up 4-6 weeks in due to lack of income."

"Lack of training with experience and successful agents in the field."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Trying to allow new agents to spend more 1-on-1 time with seasoned agents as their success and knowledge is better than any week long training seminar in a classroom."

"If I would have had the time to devolp a book of clients and not needed to find a non 100% commission job, I would of stayed with them."

"I loved the fact that the harder I worked, the more money I made. That I was always meeting new people and really helping them with their coverage."

"Possibly look at a base for the first 8 to 12 months to get started."

"There is a growing trend to replace the older more experienced worker with the younger less experienced worker."

"Stop replacing the more experienced worker, instead place them in positions where their knowledge and expertise are available to the newer employee."

"Don't apply to the Call Center or Claims thinking you'll get your foot in the door and move up. That's a pipe dream in most cases."
