3I was laid off and my position was outsourced, but I am not going to tell them to stop laying off employees. What this company must do is to stop driving their top talent out the door by cutting salaries, denying performance increases, denying bonuses, and cutting benefits just so that they can drive up their stock prices 1/2 cent or whatever it is.Xerox must get a handle on their horrible business model and figure out what actually works, not just what works for a month. To coin a phrase, Stop trying to drive a square peg in a round hole.
1.7I worked at Xerox in San Antonio TX as a CSR or Sam's Club and it has been one of the worst experiences in a workplace I think I will ever have. I've witnessed my co worker be sexually harassed and management turn the other cheek. The supervisors I knew were all inexperienced, rude and unreliable. I've seen supervisors yell at customers, place customers on hold and curse and fight and make fun of other co workers. I've witnessed managers tell my co workers to keep their "mouth shut" if they have a problem with anything in the workforce if they want to "get ahead". You don't get any recognition for the work that you do. I was a top sales agent and you literally get stickers and dollar store toys for reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales goals. No pay bonuses. And if you mess up? Even in a minor way, well if you do then they drop your pay to below minimum wage for three months even if it was their fault that they did not train you properly. I started as a .com info agent and was thrown into a sales position and offered no training and support so I basically taught myself so of course I messed up once or twice, but it didn't matter. My pay was dropped and I was punished for over 60 days and not able to pay my bills. If you get sick don't count on being able to use vacation days unless you predict catching the flu at least 7 days in advance. You have to literally be in the hospital in critical condition or they will not approve a sick day. Overall I learned a lot here and I've learned how a company should NOT act. Maybe ok for a young person looking to gain experience anywhere but if you value yourself then don't work here, you deserve better,
3.6I would love to see this company grow into the kind of company that we were in the 1980's! If you show that you care about the employees at the bottom of your ranks, they will prove to you that they care about making Xerox look good. The exceptional employees will stick around. Don't hire as many Yes-men into upper management. Hire people who can see a good idea and understand how to use it, who understand how to use conflict to think about how to create a better company. Invest enough time and money into an idea to develop and redevelop it until it makes sense to use it on the floor and sell the tech to other companies like you were doing in the 1980's. Make all of your upper employees spend a few weeks operating machines to really get a sense of what they are working toward. We need leadership that inspires and does not just bully down the chain of command.

If the name Haloid Photographic Company was mentioned, few people would know what company this was. While some people may guess that it is a company that manufactures cameras, they would be mistaken. Instead, the focus of this organization was in the creation of photographic paper and printing machines. Now, if the name Xerox was mentioned, most people would instantly recognize the name. When the original company was founded in 1906, the idea of using a machine to copy documents was probably something that few people thought would be practical. Today, printers, presses and photocopier devices are the primary product that the firm produces.
