"I worked at Walgreens for almost 3 years and it was my first job. My manager was excellent and the scheduling was very flexible (although I heard this was not the case at other stores). I feel I was underpaid for all the work I did since the photo lab was pretty much the backbone of the store that did all the odd jobs on top of maintaining the photo lab. My experience was excellent however. I made friends and had a lot of very good experiences at Walgreens."

Working at Walgreens in Westminster, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

Walgreens Employee

"For a stepping stone job... go for it. Build your future... forget it."

What do you like about working at Walgreens?

"It's a stable company to work for. Offer good retirement plan, but health benefits getting worse."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just have common sense, you are applying for retail, not building a rocket."

What don't you like about working at Walgreens?

"Too much politics. Manager has to work weekends and close the store, as an assistant position so ridiculous, copy CVS Drugstore operation strategy. How sad for a company that is known for family own and operation, now hire new personnel that has no experience with retail whatsoever to train store managers, LOL such a joke. Feel sorry for the company. Too cheap to cover for employee health benefits."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be realistic, listen to store managers' ideas since they are the ones who deal direct with customers every day, no one knows customers better than them. Stop sitting in high chairs and setting unrealistic goals. Take care of your employee health benefits first, since the company known as a part of health care provider. Worst health benefits ever."
