"I have worked with Verizon Services, or a company acquired by Verizon, for over 26 years. Verizon puts a lot of emphasis on its employees' education and career advancement. I enjoy the people I work with and the benefits are superior. I am disappointed not to be working for them anymore after the end of February. Due to a Financial Transformation ignition where they are combining all the financial operations offices into two location my position is moving to Florida but I am not. I hope to find a position in another organization before my tenure is up but if I don't I will always be grateful for the opportunities they have provided me."
"Too much micro management."
"Fortune 500 company that is improving on their organizational structure and employee-employer relations."
"I work at Verizon and it is a good place!"
"Met/exceeded yearly requirements multiple years with zero exceptions."
"Excellent work culture. Good environment and technologies used."
"I've been with the company for 17 years, and things have changed, but I cannot say for the better: - The focus is on "growth" through reduction. Every 2-4 months there is another layoff. These in fact have to be very creatively structured because the "bottom 10%" was gone a long time ago. You can be a top performer and become a victim the next day. - Years of work experience with the company are irrelevant. I know of contractors that were hired for 12 years that were dismissed because they lacked a college degree. - Your assigned work PC is an expensive paperweight, which demands a reboot--often taking an hour--as many as twice a day. I suppose I should say some good things, too: - They do have a good benefits package, but I would recommend taking a union job and stay out of Information Technology. - The buildings and workspaces are clean and maintained."
"The work area and job were very good to me."
"Large company with many departments and opportunity to advance. Unfortunately the company is too focused on trying to surpass stockholder expectations. They are and have been reducing their workforce and managers on a regular basis (every 6 months). Benefits have been slowly dwindling. Management no longer has a pension, hourly pensions have been frozen, benefits used to be 100% paid but are no longer."
