"I've worked for VZ for 19 years. I have found it to be a strong company with competitive pay and benefits. They are very flexible when it comes to balancing your personal and professional life. Sometimes there is some red tape and politcal nonsense that has to be dealt with to get the job done, but that's not isolated to this company. They have started to hire folks in countries outside of America. I don't agree with taking jobs away from Americans and giving them to the other countries, however, that is all of Corporate America these days, not just Verizon. And the % for VZ is minimal."

"I have a long association with Verizon as employee, but things seems to be astray with bad management, there are lot of layoffs and company mood is somber. They are looking for new opportunities but bad decisions are derailing it. The old autocratic style management is now out of luck. Lot of power grabbing and turf fighting is taking place now that makes it obtrusive to even watch. I am hoping Verizon management gets a second chance."

"Verizon is a great place to work. Unfortunately they have the same problem as every other publicly traded company. In order to drive up their share price, they have to do more with less. In most cases, improving the profit margin means eliminating positions and letting people go. I have seen a mass amount of very talented people cut from Verizon only to have them pop up at competitors or in a few cases with Verizon customers. However, Verizon can't be blamed for the way Corporate America operates."

"Employed for over 10 years in multiple positions. Above average salary pay and benefits, and a company that provides training and opportunity. Currently going through many changes but if you have the right skill set for IT or service based background there are positions available."

"The pay is great. There is opportunity. There is politics. That being said I don't regret my 12 year run but I do wish the company helped me relocate with my family rather than watching me walk out the door. But that's more on my regional / local management than the company as a whole. My management was dysfunctional and primed for a reality show full of debauchery."
