"Listen to employees and help them find the best place in the company for their talents."

"I worked for USAA for 6 years, 9 months. For the most part I like my tenure at the company but the last year of employment saw major change in leadership. In the last 3 month more than 30 different employees and quit their job due to the workload that was now demanded of the mortgage department. This workload ultimately drove me out of that company."

Due to the size of the organization and the main focus not being mobile it is hard to grow in such an organization. Most resources and efforts are focused around back-end development and bringing old technologies up to speed with primary drivers of the organization being its dominant revenue segments of which technology is not one. Overall, great organization and a focused company set to help its target audience."

"Have more competitive salaries, and hire more people with experience."

"I love me job at USAA. The only reason I am looking to change is because of the compensation. It could be a little better and more competitive."

"Super awesome company with many perks to the job. Great work environment, plenty of time off, multiple gyms, decent food courts, and good people.Cons: A very traditional and conservative company. They preach innovation but often that turns into red tape and politics. The militaristic culture may not be for everyone."

"Great benefits. Amazing paid time off. Great potential to progress."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The company is all about how good of a fit you are to their culture, and if you show the ability to learn. Lower GPAs probably do more harm if you really have an odd personality. Work hard, and be a people person. And don't expect a high starting salary."

What don't you like about working at United Services Automobile Association?

"I don't like how little work there was when I was new. I felt like I wasn't needed."

"I couldn't do anything better than the current leadership in any way."

I found this to be a great workplace with amazing benefits for full-time employees, a strong company culture, authentic sense of purpose, and brilliant, friendly leadership. While workplace politics are definitely heavy, this company is a great fit for an individual looking for a conservative, but caring, workplace."
