"I've been with the bank for over 14 years. It's an institution that emphasizes ethics and business stability. Ability to move up is somehow limited and the pay is not great, but other things make up for it. Benefits are nice especially retirement related, but healthcare plan could be much better. Bank is stable and growing year to year."

Branch Manager

"US Bank is ok at best."

What do you like about working at US Bank?

"Nothing."

What don't you like about working at US Bank?

"My district manager."

"DM change."

Branch Manager

"US Bank is very poor."

What do you like about working at US Bank?

"It was close to where I lived."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not do it. Banking is a dead industry. Go into High-Tech, medical or something useful. Online banks will someday kill retail banking. Don't bet your career on an industry like that."

What don't you like about working at US Bank?

"Very poor district management hiring practices. Low skill level of most managers. Education is not valued. They do not hire the most qualified person. HR issues are brushed under the rug. Tattling is encouraged with a special phone line. Special agendas are encouraged. Chain of command is never followed. Meetings are used to plan more meetings. Underwriting is too tight to be effective as a national bank/lender. TARP money is not being used legally or for the benefit of clients."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. I would like to see them bought out by a large bank and turned into a national bank, rather than a quasi-regional bank that due to economic times has profited with government money to bolster its bottom line."
