"The work was technically challenging."

"IT at UB used to be a very rewarding place work. The CIO not only cared about the work products, but also the stability and health of the IT work force. When he retired, a new management team was brought in - and turned the IT department upside down. It became an combative and overly aggressive work environment which as destabilized the workforce. I'd classify the compensation as battle pay."

"It's really a popularity contest, so smile and look good. Appearance is more important than knowledge."

"Management really made stupid decisions, spending millions on projects not needed, while nickel and diming employees on salaries and raises. Bonuses were a joke at the discretion of the manager who rewarded who he liked versus who really deserved bonuses."

"Cut the red tape. Give employees clear goals to achieve to get bonuses."
