"Man, to be honest, Tek System made me what I am today. A new life is what they gave me. I don't know about anyone else's experience but the Tek System I know is the best couple of good people to work with. Joe Somerville. Duane Dwelle."

"I loved the travel and the independence. Made great friends and mostly worked with great co-workers."

"It's great if you like contract work and don't mind some extended time out of work between jobs."

"Unpredictability of the next job."

"Management through my office was top notch. I heard complaints from other offices, but none from mine."

"They have a great list of clients they work with that will help get you exposed to the best of the best (and sometimes the worst of the worst)."

"Don't bother, and find another company that will let you go and grow in a method that works for you. Allowing you to be yourself and to be a contributory asset to their company."

What don't you like about working at TEKsystems?

"Do you have any individuality and the slightest bit of a personality? If the answer is yes then this place is not for you. They turn you into a robot and watch for and listen to your every move. The very source of my disdain for Corporate America."

"Get over yourselves. Seriously... enough about golf, and how many beers you drank on Sunday."

"Totally left on my own."

"Stick up for your employees."

"Consulting is consulting."

"Yes, don't get stuck in a small city or limited market. This was the downfall for me, nothing to do after the contract ended and the promise of a full time position went south."

"Providing followup on contracting work!"

"Depending on what location you're in makes a difference. Recruiters make the difference. When I worked in FL, had no problems with them finding work for me, etc. Pleasant to work with, more like family atmosphere! Listened to your needs and tried to accommodate."

"If you need a job, yes, this is the place to go. If you need a career, read carefully. And ask a lot of questions. Will this be right for you?"

What don't you like about working at TEKsystems?

"Location. When I moved to NY, different atmosphere, more stress, recruiters didn't really give a bleep. Higher ups were stressing recruiters out to make a certain quota a month... BS."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management needs to really take a look at the end result and take into consideration the techs that are actually working at the sites. Yes, everyone needs a job, but if it's contract will they go perm. Give contract employees paid time off!!! Not some measly dinner once a year. We'd rather take the PAID TIME OFF."

"Their recruiters typically don't understand technical lingo, so in addition to your resume, define the big words."

"Start treating your resources as fellow human beings as opposed to revenue generators. Invest in training and career opportunities."

"Communication with staffing personnel, prior to starting position, was virtually non-existent; job-site atmosphere was NOT conducive to professional or personal growth within the company."

"There are much better body shops to work for than Tek Systems. Don't go there unless you're desperate."

"The fact that they made grandiose promises and only once in several years, came through with the actual work."

"Get some better account reps and people who will be honest with your potential consultants."

"Training the programmers in PL/SQL and some other oracle tools."

"Age and technology does not go together very well."

"What can I say, change is difficult."

"Very difficult to say, management had nothing to do with the situation."

"Be honest in your answers. Stay positive. Look for new opportunities with the company when hired."

"The trap of a single line of work. Limited compensation for contracts, often dictated by the client."
