"There is no honor among the recruitment team, they will blame all problems on the tech and hang you out to dry."

"Hire more experienced recruitment personnel who are honest with their people."

"This is a contractor position, be prepared to be on your own."

"Distance from home office is more than 30 miles from where I work, could be closer."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would offer a four 10's 40 hour work week, some people would like to have 3 day weekends."

"Worked with a very cool but small development team. Everyone worked together with no issues."

"Be prepared to match skills to job requirements and to prove database knowledge. Every employee must carry his or her own weight."

"One of the other project managers was a manipulator. I worked for the cool guy!"

"Too many consultants and not enough full-time employees. Over time the organization will pay for this with lost knowledge."

"Challenging work, not micro managed, good support, quality and friendly people and fair pay for the time."

"TEKsystems is a good company to work for so be upfront with them and always do you best."

"It was a contract job that did not lead to direct hire."

"Trust employees on an individual basis and provide real time input on work performance, be it good or bad. Support their people."

"Just be yourself and don't apply for jobs you can't do."

"Nothing really, I have no complaints, I have been here a year and loved it."

"None, I think they are doing a great job at what they do."

"I love the flexibility - I am even able to work from home. I also love the pay."

"I love working with TEKSystems. Bank of America as well!"

"I wish we had better benefits (i.e. medical specifically) and stock options."

"Career coaching for employees. I wish we had something that gave us big picture goals for the long run for ourselves."

"Recruiter is great. Gauging how well you fit into the company culture as a contractor is uncertain, because contractors are treated different from employees. Contractors are generally kept in relative isolation, but are expected to know the business in great detail."

"Just ask for what type of client company you want to work for. Otherwise a technical match may not mean a business-level match."

What don't you like about working at TEKsystems?

"Since I'm a contractor, the people at the jobs they send me to expect more to be done in 40 hours than I can realistically do, and they don't allow overtime, generally. If the nature of the business the client company is in is unfamiliar or uninteresting to me, the only way to succeed is to have mentors who can train and answer business-specific questions. Client companies unfortunately never seem to have time for that."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More training at the client companies. Don't assume technical contractors are experts in the business rules."

What do you like about working at TEKsystems?

"What I liked best was the culture of the company and the people within that culture. It was a hard working environment but it was selfless and caring."

"Understand that the main focus of the company is to take new talent and move them into a sales role as quickly as possible. So always mention you want to get into sales as quickly as possible and will do whatever it takes to do so."

"The company is too focused on promoting its new talent and not on developing that talent over time."

"Take your time in developing the new talent and give them the opportunity to understand the business instead of setting them up for failure."

"Make sure you get a thorough description of the job details and future job mobility."

"Lack of upward mobility and salary could be better. Also working weird shifts."

"Allow for more vertical and horizontal career mobility. Add vacation time."

"Working within a small organization makes it very easy to build good relationships with my coworkers. I had a lot of freedom to pick and choose the specialized projects that I wanted to do."

"Keep an open line of communication with the co-workers and make sure you well-document your work."

"Not always having the tools needed. Not having a true engineering mentor. I'm not happy with the lack of benefits and financial compensation."

"Needs to bring in more talented workers and find a way to keep them motivated and on board."

"Most of the work is in Omaha, very little availability in Lincoln."

"Culture is more around staffing, thus restricting any growth for outside talent."

"The friendly atmosphere, relaxed environment, very technology driven, the environment felt as if it was built with the consideration of the employees."

"Do not get discouraged easy, continue to apply and be persistent, eventually it pays off in the end and it doesn't hurt to network and find out more about the position or area in which you are interested in applying for and working in."

"As a contract worker it was very difficult to be hired on permanently."

"Invest in the future generation in regards to mentoring and offering positions to successful candidates that show the ability or willingness to strive for perfection."
